Jerry Garcia's absolutely amazing version of Warren Zevon's song
recorded in 1977 before Zevon released his version in 1978

Unexpectedly, Garcia's arrangement reminded me of one of François De Roubaix's soundtrack music pieces from 1975.

A little Curtis Mayfield on a Friday morning. SO funky....

EDIT: I had no idea Fishbone was ever on Soul Train. I think they may have been a little too much for Don Cornelius.....LOL at Fish's drumkit.....

you know you know @16:29 as an extension of Binky's Beam
the dance of maya @26:55 as a stoned variation of Binky's Beam

Japanese stuff from the 70s and 80s that is on youtube is the ultimate weird music rabbit hole to go down this summer and I have no regrets.

City Pop... strangely addictive as a background groove in the summer. Thanks to vaporwave for popularizing this nostalgic music that takes you to another time and place you've never been but feel like you have.

And Early Japanese synth is also intriguing...

Acquainting myself with some Paisley Underground bands from the 80s. Don't know how it took me this long. Pretty much the birth of alternative rock as far as I can tell.

I haven't thought of this song on probably a year or more, and I woke up a couple of days ago singing it and couldn't get it out of my head all day. Some kind of weird forgotten dream thing going on, I guess.

The Claypool Lennon Delirium - One of the most underrated collaborations of this decade. Psychedelic progressive rock at it's modern best.
