I agree. Did not care for the record. Wife is a huge fan of the band. She was a bit disappointed too.

gonna work my way through each Tom Petty album on the way in to and coming home from work. Started with the first one this morning.
Finally some real hip-hop!!! Not some bullchit 'rap' like migos, fetty wap, and whatever other trash the high school kids listen to these days.
I like Ocean Machine - Biomech Devin Townsend Project - Transcendence Devin Townsend is a musician's musician, like King's X.
Yeah Transcendence is what I've been listening to since it's his only free stuff on Amazon Prime. I saw DTP opening for someone (Gojira maybe?) a while ago and even though at the time I didn't know any of their songs, their set was still amazing. Townsend is a great performer and really got the crowd going. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed them.
I think I did have a Social Distortion album back in high school, but I can't remember ever loving it. I must have sold it back in college when I converted to indie rock hipster. Not sure if that was an oversight on my part, or I just wasn't into them for some other reason. I think I always just put them on the same level as other "Vans Warped Tour" punk bands like NOFX that didn't interest me. But I heard "Ball and Chain" randomly the other day, and damned if it isn't good. One of those songs anyone can like. So, I did some research and quickly figured out they actually were more catchy/hook driven than just poor man's Offspring wanna-bes (and started way before Offspring anyway). Pretty unique too with incorporating some country/rockabilly into harder punk rock. Anyway, I bought a used copy of their self-titled CD and it's pretty darned good. So yeah, that's what I'm listening to. The 90s are still finding ways to impress me.
