Never said we owe him something, you seem to have missed everything I have said.

What exactly do you think I am peddling?

Florida is fine. Its the inept counties in SE FL that have issues.

GA on the other hand ...

Nationwide, the 2018 midterm has been a blue wave; in Orange County (OC), CA, it has been an orange crush,
all the GOP candidates got crushed

There are 7 Congressional districts in the OC, immediate south of LA county, all suburbs.
The home of Disneyland; it has been the cradle of Goldwater / Reagan conservativism.

In the OC, the 2018 midterm has been the Orange Crush; all the GOP candidates got crushed, all 7 districts will be represented by Dems.

The voters there, predominately educated middle-class, voted for their pocket books.

The GOP had passed the Trump tax cut favoring the upper 1 % to be paid for by the middle class,
as the new tax law limits the tax deduction for

    • mortgage interest and state/local tax

Orange County in California has historically been pretty conservative...

Turns out people aren’t as dumb as the Republicans think they are and people actually notice when you raise their taxes by taking away key deductions.

President Gaius Baltar in the second season of the Battlestar Galactica reboot.

Of course he spent the next few years in jail, so there's that.

In purely practical terms this is the wise way to handle this, even if you are raging inside.

I am going to remember Trumps pathetic inaugural crowd for the rest of my life - probably the legend will grow until the only people in attendance were Trump employees and his great aunt. Sean Spicer's epic meltdown will be replayed on derect-to-brain download on the future science fiction History Channel equivalent in 300 years.

If he had given the bland excuses that some people came out with, I would have chuckled for a day or two and forgotten it by the next time one came around. Now the issue is an Event in History. You can't pick a fight with reality and expect to win. You can bend bend it a little, but too far and it hits back.

Congrats, you've just proven yourself a more competent presidential spokesman than either Sarah Huckabee Sanders or Shawn Spicer. Unfortunately, displaying competence is the one thing that won't get you hired by this Whitehouse so there is no pay off. But good instincts, anyway. Thank you for the congratulations, it was very thoughtful of you.

Trump is so savvy at some things but so overmatched in other instances. There doesnt seem to be any rhyme or reason. Every time I've decided he is a total moron, he does something to suggest otherwise, and vise versa.

Maybe he's like a really mean Forest Gump or something. Or grumpy Peter Sellers from "Being There". That would actually be a nice movie screenplay - a remake of "Being There" but with a thoroughly unlikable Trumpian lead character. Hollywood, hit me up.

The Senate looks very much in play for Democrats in 2020, even if Florida stays R.

That whole post is excellent, but this is a classic line. I may have to borrow it someday.
