    So are the Panthers.

The Jags made an AFC championship game.

The Bucs made a NFC championship game in their 1st five years.

Anyone think the football team will be better without McNair running the team?

I'm not wishing for him to die.

And after the Jags and Panthers the NFL changed the expansion setup because the other teams complained about how many players they had to make accessible in the expansion draft

Yes, but the Texans have had 15 years to catch up.

Tell me more about the Bucs?

How long do you propose we give the McNairs a break for having a mediocre team?

That was a long time ago bro. The Panthers and Jags are much more relevant to the Texans because their expansion draft caused the changes.

    It was intentionally made harder

He's 79 years old and just went through treatment for a rare type of bone marrow cancer.

I'd say he is very lucky to be alive.

Maybe the statue is for not only football but the charity and humanitarian efforts that probably don't get as publicized as much. He's ill and folks can be emotional. Maybe some folks don't think he deserves a statue but some do. I can't judge those folks for wanting to give him one. It's harmless UNLESS it's coming out of taxpayer's pockets.

Your local football team you love and support doesn't exist without this man you ungrateful, spiteful, sons of b****es. You don't have to want or like the statue but all the mockery and hate against this man is ridiculous.

Because he would be the only man on the planet that could bring an NFL team here? GIVE ME A BREAK. If it wasn't McNair it would have been somebody else. It's like saying we should thank the owner of a grocery store because they opened up in the neighborhood.

It's simple economics. the 4th largest city in country would have gotta an NFL team eventually. Maybe even the Rams.

Bob McNair paid 600 million dollars for the Texans in 1999.

18 years later the Texans are worth 3 billion dollars.

So what? I'm just saying you don't have to like him, his team, his style, his decisions, his statue, etc... but we don't have to mock and hate on a sick 80 year dude who brought football back to our city after an evil troll took football away. That's a twisted way to view and live life is all I'm saying. To each their own.

Just because he was the one who brought the NFL back, doesn't give him a free pass for all time on all the BS, and when it reaches a certain point, there needs to be accountability. The problems with the Texans start at the top, and as long as he's the owner, they will continue. From the NAMING to our "win quick" strategy, and on and on, it's been about the cash register/GoodOleBoysNetwork. Don't give me that "ungrateful" crap. I'm Houston born and raised...seen a half century of owners and teams come & go... understand/lived the history. BM hasn't been our savior...far from it. And you should be careful about slinging SOB around so cavalierly...never know what might have happened to someone's Mom.

He paid $700 million. When the JAX and CAR fees just 6 years earlier were $140 million.

He blew them away with $$$ when LA fumbled.

Could be the reason why some folks are pushing for the statue

He did have that bandage over his right ear last Sunday.
