Man, after seeing that, I have to hope that either:
    1. Those examples are cherry-picked and not indicative of his overall bball IQ.
    2. Playing a few months in MDA's system will elevate his stats and highlight reel enough to make him attractive as a trade deadline chip.

    1. That's the hope! But, since low bball IQ seems to be the fan and analyst consensus both inside and outside of Phoenix, I suspect that is probably the case.

    2. This is maybe our realistic best-case scenario. I don't know if bball IQ is something that can improve very much; it seems you either have those instincts or you don't.

What's an interesting problem with him on defense is his inability to defend the rim (where he has to be mindful of multiple things), but he does show the ability to switch it on perimeter players and defend them one on one.

So is there a way to use him so that he isn't expected to defend the rim? Can we alter our defensive approach to have him at C but he doesn't have rim-proctecting responsibilities?

Are you asking for a coach to use his player’s skill set and not a system that said player must fill a set role in. Mind blowing logic. Is there a way to use his raw talent and have him grow as player as he finds success. That would up to coachableity (sorry for spelling) Is the kid coachable? So far no. We will know soon.

A lot of people forget that he is only 21. he has been inconsistent but has shown flashes of great play

He should be himself. Any good coach doesn’t want his players to be anything but themselves and grow into reliable teammates. Any great coach finds a way to use his players to highlight their abilities while filling a role for team success. Putting the right mixture of players and opportunities on the court at the right time is how champions are won. This kid’s talent is undeniable all the while still untapped. IF he is coachable and can learn quickly (we are win now) the sky is his ceiling.

If you think chriss was traded for Ryan anderson than your bball iq is as low as chriss. Melton is who the suns are gambling on. The suns are only giving up Chris because he is the odd man out with there over quantity of bigs.

No one forgets this. If he was playing this poorly in college, he’d be a 2nd rounder in the draft because that’s where juniors with ahleticism but can’t develop get drafted. Except now he’s paid much more and the Rockets have less team control than someone drafted from this years class.

Also he hasn’t been inconsistent. Inconsistent means he has some good and some bad. He’s mostly been bad. Every Suns fan and every national writer who watched the Suns says he’s just been bad. All the advanced stats says he’s been bad. He is a bad player. That is factual.

The only reason there’s hope that he may be better with the Rockets comes from the fact that the Rockets can simplify the game for him, ask him to focus on less areas, have better players set him up to succeed in ways Suns players could not. These are possible, but that’s all hypothetical because to this date, he has shown to be a player who will be out of the league in 1-2 years. And that’s still likely his career path given that the Suns gave him up for Ryan Anderson.

I recall Terrence Jones being 21 yr old. He was inconsistent but had good games.

Are you a fool or a troll? Chriss was buried behind all the bigs they had and that was before the drafted Ayton. They had Tyson Chandler, Bender and Holmes and Arthur sharing minutes at 4/5. And with Ayton now Chriss was the odd man out. Learn basketball before you go commenting.

Oh, The guy that played 72 games last year at over 20 mins a game. "buried" The only reason Bender even played was bc he was their only other big besides Len they wanted to play. Len is out now and in comes Ayton. Chandler's role hasn't and wont change. hell sit out half the year. Hilarious you mention Arthur who hasn't even played a minute for Phx and is actually getting bought out and won't ever suit up for them. Holmes who also wasn't even on phx last year came to phx this year for CASH. So saying phx "had" those two tells me everything I need know about who needs to "learn basketball" and solidifies you have no clue about phx's actual roster

Feel free to try again but you look dumb as is already and there really isn't anything you can say at this point.

A 21yr old athletic big stretch 4, who can shoot threes decently, was the 8th pick in his draft, on contract for 3 years, and playing/learning from CP3/Harden/Melo....

Yeah I’m excited to see this team mold him

Chriss was the best player in the trade.

    Rockets won.

If knight can provide good shooting from the arc the Rockets may have just made another legendary trade.

Hire Amare Stoudemire to do it. His game was years ahead of its time.

I think MDmA's offensive and defensive systems allow Chriss to do what he does well. I agree he looks bad, but some of that is coaching mistakes, not having a real offense, and bad fit. I think it should all be taken with a grain of salt because in no situation on there did the team on the floor play like the Rockets when he failed. When he did well it looked like the Rockets last year on both O and D.

Did any of Morey's lotto-bust acquisitions work out for us? I can't think of a single one, although I would like to be wrong (and no one say Harden - he was definitely not a lotto bust when we traded for him)

If thi kid can provide 75% of what Capela does for about ten minutes a game during the regular season then he’s a good acquisition. If not, then he gets traded or cut. Big whoop.
