In my opinion, that was the biggest swing in Astros history. Down 4 - 1 against Kershaw at that point felt pretty rough.

Marwins was bigger imo. We weren’t coming back from 2-0

No matter the biggest, they both got it done and the World Series finally came home.

Incidentally, they announced it later than usual, but Yuli was player of the week last week. I didn't see it posted.

What the Astros really need is a trade for Beltran to add to our clubhouse again. How is he with pitchers ;)

To be honest, I was pretty salty they didnt try to bring him on the coaching staff. I know he was interviewing to the Yankees manager position but they should have brought him in.

As far as Yuli's improvement, he is finally hitting balls in the strike zone. That's the biggest adjustment I've seen with him. Earlier in the year, he couldn't hit anything in the strike zone.

Agree. Not a natural “power hitter”, but the adjustment has been working. Maybe it’s just me, but his swing looks a little different, and a little less hooked. That should help with balls in the middle of the zone.

Agreed, as big (or bigger) than Marwin's blast against their closer in Game 2 to tie it up in the 8th. Both situations seemed pretty bleak. You can see all of the players get their mojo back in both of those home runs. Yuli and Marwin are heroes. What a great signing Yuli turned out to be. I think he can still be productive for a couple of more seasons. His versatility is good too. I think he will continue to rake for a while. Just completely dialed in.

Yeah, why does everyone start to diminish this guy after he gives you what you want? He's making adjustments to his game... to get better. The fact is, this guy performs in the playoffs. People have slumps. Most stay the same and keep doing the same things. Then some take different actions.

You people should all be ashamed. You know who you are.

Not like he’s having some awesome season when taken as a whole; 114 wRC+ and ranked 13th among qualified 1B in fWAR. Obviously if he keeps up what he’s done the last few weeks that ranking will go up but nobody should be treating Yuli like a star yet.

I still prefer Rendon. Unfortunately, I think Nationals do as well, and those SOBs had to get back in the playoff race.
