Harden is the best scorer in the NBA just like Morey is the best GM in the league. Both have zero rings to show for it though.

Michael just a lot more versatile scorer.

You can plan against Harden a lot easier.

This. Harden through choice of shot selection is more efficient given a large sample size. However, I'm going to trust Jordan to get a bucket of it's down to a possession.

Jordan. This shouldn't even be a debate. MJ was more athletic. He didn't have to depend on 3s in order to get 30-40-50 points a night which tells me he was more versatile than Harden. And MJ has 10 scoring titles!!! Hell, even Kobe was a better scorer than Harden. Morey relies too heavily on statistics to make dumb statements. If statistics were that accurate then Rockets should be winning a title every year with Morey as GM.

I need to see Daryl's stats and understand how he is breaking it down.

Greatest clutch shooter of all time, MJ and Big Shoot Bob is right behind him.

Greatest scorer of all time, gotta see the stats.

Yeah, but future FAs might be looking at him and think, "Man, I want a GM that delusional who'll have my back all the time against literally anyone."

Drexler once said that he is a better scorer than Jordan as well... only difference is that Jordan shoots more. But again this is an individual that used the phrase "clubbing baby seals" during his commentary...

Clyde is a giant homer also so not the most objective arbiter. I'll give him some credibility in that he actually has guarded Jordan which I cannot say for myself.

It would be a simple answer, but Morey is not totally wrong. Which player in a game do you think can score 100 points fastest, I'd pick Harden. If you are down 30 points, which player do you think is capable of making a comeback, I'd pick Harden. Which player do you think can pad stats, I'd pick Harden. Volume-wise, Harden is better, but in a game where points are needed, I'd pick Jordan. When Harden passes Jordan in all-time points list, Morey is right. In the playoffs, ofc I'd pick.....

He certainly did look to get bailed out. It was part of the game and he exploited it just like Harden. lol.

I’m old enough to watch MJ play. When Jordan wanted to score he did. No doubt in my mind when he let his jumper fly in clutch situations. Same with Hakeem.

Sorry but Harden ain’t that guy yet.

Down 1, final possession, against an elite defensive team — who’s hands would you rather put the ball in?

What do Morey’s facts say about that?

It's close enough to be a debate. And that's factual. And that was my vote.

Jordan is the GOAT but he isn't a deity that we can't question lest we be scorned for heresy.

I can't help but notice this thread includes just anecdotal arguments and "Harden is better" or "Jordan is better". Heaven forbid that we actually analyze something!

People here probably think Jordan is a better owner than Tillman, too.

Okay Jordan is a better scorer than Harden and the debate is absurd. Harden's only advantage is modern analytics that allows him to have a completely different style of shot selection that generates more points per possession.

Jordan is the more creative scorer. The more powerful scorer. The more versatile scorer and cannot be neutralize with gimmicks. Like I said before, over a large sample size, Harden will be more efficient, but given one possesions to score a bucket, I trust Jordan to get the ball in the hoop more.
