any updates on KMac's lead assistant or defensive coordinator? are there candidates already interviewed?
Calm down, it's too early to decide the lead assistant coach. Morey is busying on draft in the next month and free agents in June, and then he will interview about 10 candidates in Aug.
I suspect (I have no inside information on it) that the Rockets would like to bring in two assistants. For all the scorn all the Rockets coaches get or got (Sampson included), the staff is well thought of around the league... Bickerstaff is viewed as a future NBA coach and Sampson would have been an NBA head coach, possibly as soon as this off season. Finch is spoken less about, but he is viewed as an asset as well.
Hire Mike Brown and call it a day. I am not sure if there is anybody out there with a better Defensive mind then him
MAYBE... Someone who played under Popovich and George Karl. Someone with both NBA and international experience. Someone who led teams into the playoffs in 4 of his 5 seasons as head coach. Someone who is not afraid to physically confront even his GM and has experience dealing with the craziest of owners. You want a guy who gets on James Harden for his defense? Spoiler
There is only one man that deserves that spot and that is Mario Elie. Les Alexander needs to get his head out of his New York Ass. Mike Brown is a big name but so is Mario Elie. He wants to be here and loves this team. The bad blood between us and him is obviously over. Dream is here too. Get him on that bench. Les is seriously starting to piss me off.
I was very optimistic when they hired this current coaching staff, but nobody told me they were a bunch of Yes man.
