It won't really make much difference. I would look at the location of each property and see which part of the strip appeals to you more. Having said that, the two properties are pretty close to each other. The Linq is a little closer to the Mirage, the Venetian, and Wynn. Bally's gives you easier access to the Bellagio, Cosmo, etc. The Linq probably does attract a younger crowd, but if I'm staying at either of these two properties, I'm using the hotel mainly just for sleeping.
Dude, if you're constantly getting comped at Caesars how the hell will Tilman ever afford to pay the luxury tax?
There was a time about a decade ago when Wynn was new, Encore Beach Club was the biggest thing during the day (well, equal to Wet Republic at MGM - the first one), and Venetian's poker room actually surpassed Bellagio's in terms of volume. Over the years, the new developments down south really boosted that area. I was living across the street watching Cosmo get built and it didn't start off with a boom...neither did Aria a year or two before that, but both properties have done a really good job after a rocky start to become the hip place to be. Also Venetian's poker room volume has died to about 25% usage from its peak (my guess...I think I'm close) mostly due to higher fees, less game selection, and their owner being a dick to the poker community in general. Venetian has also lost the hip factor, even though I'm sure Tao is doing fine, and caters to older and Asian (ex. getting the Human Nature Aussie motown boy band with the 65+ avg age audience - but I love that show from Imperial Palace aka The Linq). Anyhow, yes, north strip used to be the spot, but is 2nd fiddle again. I'm not sure how Resorts World will impact that, since the only other all-Asian casino failed so fast. But this one is 100x the size and investment, so we'll see.
I don't love the promenade, because it's basically many things found in modern metro town squares + beer pong. Beer pong is fun. And just from a pure economic standpoint, Linq is your cheapest comp in Caesar's rewards. It's just remodeled rebranded from The Quad and before that Imperial Palace. It's the cheapest crappiest Caesar's property. It could still be a fun atmosphere, but don't expect room consistency to be great. Bally's isn't great, but is better than the Linq in hierarchy. You're also connected internally to Paris, and you're across the street from Bellagio. I enjoy both the Linq and Bally's for what they are, low end, low min tables, fun Vegas properties. I also enjoy Hash House at the Linq bc I'm a fatty that likes big portions, and they're the biggest. Edit: so it might not be crappiest anymore. Anyhow, if you want eye candy and young people, just go to Cosmo and you'll be happy.
Haven't experienced The Linq yet. I'll check it out. Has Bally's upgraded its "river stream" ?? Decent idea, but poorly executed... or maybe it just deteriorated over time. As of 2015, there was a huge parking lot behind Bally's where 18-wheelers could park. Entrance is off Koval on the SW corner of Koval-Flamingo. Roll thru with the Big Rig... or RV !!!
You got read brotha. These are my only 2 options even though I’m comped at Caesar’s. Outside factors out of my control involving other parties.
Hmmm leaning toward the Linq seeing how it’s more on the hip side. Looks nice and clean to me. Also, some of y’all really love to exaggerate lol
I know, my man. I grew up pretty poor to where our lights were turned off almost religiously... I wouldn’t recommend it, but I appreciate the feedback.
Don’t sweat the trolls in this thread with more time on their hands than they know what to do with. I haven’t stepped foot inside Bally’s but the Linq is decent to me. O’Sheas is pretty cool bar area in the hotel. Haven’t stayed there so I couldn’t tell you how the rooms are but it’s a central location on the Strip. Been twice this year to Vegas already so if you need any other insights PM me.
Appreciate it man. Maybe I’m getting older, and I get the jokes on most threads (guilty), but too many times people post on here seeking advice in a thread and it’s just followed by dumb jokes. IDK, I don’t remember it being like that in hangout during the early 00’s. Anyways, this is my fourth time in Vegas so I’m pretty familiar I just never stepped inside Bally’s either. Ended up booking at the Linq since their renovations look good and they have a new sports book lounge that looks nice. Along with the location It’s looking pretty good! Thanks again.
Honestly, staying in a nice hotel is great and all but in the end all you do in there is sleep and take *****. Even then, some of the nicer hotels have nice public restrooms. As long as you're on the strip you're good to go. You'll like the Linq area since you'll be pretty close to the center of the strip.
Stayed at the Mirage 2 years ago. It’s the best of the mid priced Hotels on the strip hands down. We’re trying this thing where we stay at a different hotel each year but the Miarge was great.
There's good deals at the Park MGM which is the former Monte Carlo. It's central and connected to Aria and a step from the T-Mobile Arena if you are planning to see a concert or hockey game
