This is all so....weird. There has to be SO much more to this story than we know. The Spurs and Pop in particular have typically ran a tight ship since the Mid 90s. Admiral, then Timmy, then Kawhi. In between were your fringe players like Kerr, Horry, Bowen, Manu, Parker, LMA, Pau. Nary a peep from any of them against the team. Spurs fans can be hella annoying but you can't deny the consistency of the franchise. Now all of the sudden they're being looked at critically because of Kawhi? Screw him, sounds like a Royce White situation to me.
The Tony Parker scandals are things you guys forget to account for in the mid '00. He was damn near traded to NJ for Jason Kidd from what I recall. And big Timmy had some strange marital issues... which ironically the same person kept him from leaving SA to join Grant and Tracy in Orlando. They haven't been as tight shipped as people recall... just extremely lucky in the decisions they or their stars have made.
[Express News] The Spurs hope to meet with Kawhi Leonard soon to mend fences and hope to offer him a five-year $219 million supermax contract on July 1st.
End of era for the spurs No pop possibly Kawhi leaves No manu No Parker Small market team nobody would want to go there
Is lifetime channel picking up this teen drama? Damn, if he really wants to stay after wasting San Antonio's season, he should fire his agent. ... And bring in bj Armstrong
Okay? Paul George told his teammates he wanted to stay in Indiana and a week later told Pritchard he wanted out. LMA told his teammates he wanted to remain in Portland...... then the signing period started, he changed his phone numbers and ended up signing with the Spurs. Chris Paul told his teammates he planned on remaining a Clipper........ and then orchestrated a trade.
Your point that Danny Green's words are worthless is well taken, but I still believe Kawhi will start next season on the Spurs.
Stop pretending Pops. Its over. Permanent damage has been done. Just trade Kawhi to us, let us beat the Warriors for you, and you rebuild. Kawhi gets to be on a super team, the Rockets win a ring, Spurs suck and rebuild. Everyone wins.
