I figured that since there are always knee-jerk threads being negative that I would be one of the first dedicated to making a positive thread about Jordan Hill. How amazing would it be if he in fact lived up to being a top-3 talent as some had him? Sure this is just his second game but the kid even has a nice touch on his free throws and is a player that I think could be the perfect compliment next to Yao. He's seemingly unselfish, makes hustle plays and doesn't break the system. Who else is stocked with the progress that we've seen with the Pistons game and then this game? Sure it's seemingly lesser competition and many of us thought he'd be pretty decent but he might be a real gem in the rough!

I agree and I am high on Jordan Hill too. Trading away Carl Landry now seems like a blessing in disguise because of the additional playing time for Hill to develop.

It's just more negativity around here... seems to be common on the Internet these day. :(

I AGree that he's a "gem" but not a gem in the rough because the top 10 in the NBA draft isn't rough especially when players drafted way deeper being gems in rougher roughs of the draft, like boozer, arenas, landry, rashard Lewis, etc.

Positive knee jerks are ok with me, why not if mcgrady threads still exist?

i am high on j. hill as well. he's slowly developing into our system and adjusting to the nba. jordan hill wasn't a bust, he just needed more time. unfortunately mike d. didn't want to give him PT.

We shouldn't care how high he was drafted by another team. They could have spent a fortune to get him for all I care. I think he's 'a gem in the rough' to us because we got him as a throw-in. Everyone knows the center piece of the trade is Kevin Martin.

I asked this in another thread, but if Hill looks good in the summer do the Rockets still draft a PF? I mean Hill is showing promise but do we just draft the best player in order to use it in deals or do we actually try to replace Landry like Morey said?

Man, I am betting NY fans are really kicking themselves already... Imagine if this guy develops into a good player in the next few years and the Knicks fail to sign LBJ.

More than that, I bet the NY coaches feel really stupid for not playing him.
