Why? Why do the Rockets need old Jamal Crawford? Rockets need help at SF and PF. I don’t get why anyone would want us to add Jamal Crawford.

Not a Harden hater, but if he has one of those really bad playoff games it would be good to have someone off the bench that can offensively still take over a game.

Exactly. This isn't the NFL with 4 deep at a position. We have 12 players and maybe 9 that actually play. Harden, Brodie, EGo, Rivers, Green. For the 7 front court players we have Tucker, Capela, House, Hart, Chandler, and.... We have some major deficits at SF/PF. Tucker is really a SF. I don't think we are getting Iggy on buyout but that would go a long way. We are definitely thin up front. How anyone could look at this team and look at anything other than desperately needing help up front I don't think you understand basketball. We need serious help at perimeter and interior D and rebounding. MOST of the time, the game really comes down to simple fundamentals. You are not winning anything if you don't excel at these things. Memphis for all of those years couldn't play offense for **** but were a handful in the playoffs because they could do the simple things exceptionally well. Didn't turn the ball over, played hard D, and rebounded.

Are you saying you would rather had Memphis' results over the results we had?

I agree we could use more quality players with size. But who is a better option?

If we are not resigning EG then we need to trade him. Hopefully to a team with more size and a need for shooting guard play. That leaves an opening for an instant scorer of the bench. Like Crawford

If we move Gordon for a forward this would be a solid pick up.

well until it actually comes to that point, I see no need whatsoever for this dude, and even then, a 39 yo Jamal Crawford should not be in the rotation for a team trying to contend

Crawford is no longer relevant. Another washed up vet. We need youth and athleticism, we can get anyone to give us 7 ppg and 39% fg. Literally anyone can do that so why not let it be someone young.

Huh? How does not wanting Jamal Crawford because he is a volume shooting chucking guard and we are weak in the frontcourt conflate to preferring Memphis over Houston? Defense, Rebounding, and Size are all basic basketball requirements that greatly help to hide deficiencies in other areas to remain competitive. Every team rolls with what they have but you always try to get better in areas where you are weak. Our 9 man rotation doesn't need Jamal Crawford, it needs at least length and perimeter D. Harden, Brodie, EGo, and Rivers are guards. Capela, Tucker, House, Chandler, and ... We need a 3/4 player that is strong on D. I liked having Faried last year on vet min because he replaced scoring lost from injuries and crashed the boards but he was almost unplayable on D in the playoffs. He actually regressed. There are players out there. Iggy on vet min I don't see but that would be a terrific addition for the playoffs. Marvin Williams, DeMarre Carroll, are all possibilities. It's nearly impossible to just say because we are going to be beggars in this market and not choosers. We have lost the assets (contract slots) capable of really trading for what we need. Aaron Gordon's name keeps getting brought up by a few but that is a fantasy that is never happening. I still have a hard time believing we do anything else because of the tax. I don't see us making a major move but we need one. Getting JaMychal Green in that trade last year that was canceled would have solved the problem but that is gone.

but not anyone can drop 51 points as a 39 year old. Age doesn't matter, it is what they can contribute

quite honestly... how anybody can watch this and say they'd rather have Gerald Green out on the floor is baffling to me. Crawford will be good for atleast 1 to 2 games with 20+ points in each playoff series. that's a bonus!!

May as well trade for Vince Carter while we're at it.

    Chandler-Nene-Thabo-Carter-Crawford

We can call it the "What Year is It" lineup.
