Is there a chance Rockets can land a lottery pick 2014?

    Is there a chance Rockets can land a lottery pick 2014?

    Asik for a top 10 protected pick?

    Chandler's option most likely will be declined by Rockets, can Rockets trade Chandler by Feb trade deadline so the other team can retain his bird right?

    Will Rockets move up with its own 1st rounder plus some fillers to move up and hopefully snag a lottery pick?

    Lots of scenarios.

    Who would you draft in the teens?

    First, trading Parsons is crazy talk. The only reason they would have for declining his option would be resigning him to a new deal.

    Asik & D-Mo will probably both be gone before the deadline, and I'm sure Morey is hoping to get a lotto pick, or multiple picks he can flip for one.

    Anybody interested in Orlando's Afflalo? A really good shooter. Maybe Houston can ship its first rounder to Magic and snag Afflalo. Could be a great wing player along Harden and Lin.
    A really good defender too.

    What about Lance Stephenson?? Dude is a FA this summer. Sign and trade? Asik to Indiana?

    If Morey could get a top 10 protected pick, he would have already shipped off Asik. The only reason why the Rockets were even in the conversation for acquiring a first rounder (most likely lottery protected) from the Celtics is they were going to have to take on the HORRIBLE contracts of Bass and Lee in the deal.... even that deal wasn't palatable enough for the Celtics to give up a 2014 pick of any type of value.

    Can the Rockets get a lottery pick in this years draft??..... maybe, but the deal would have to come sometime close to draft day when a team either falls in love with a player who is falling back to where they can get him at a later spot the Rockets can get them to or a team changes directions and wants to win now because of an acquisition they are making in free agency.

    No team will give up a lottery pick in this years draft for any one on the Rockets roster other than Harden, Howard, and maybe Parsons. Even in Parson's case, that's pushing it.

    Let me ask you a hypothetical question: Would you trade Harden for Jabari Parker or Andrew Wiggins?

    This is definitely thought provoking, but you can't trade legit stars in the nba, for players who haven't played a single minute in the nba

    Neither Chandler Parsons, nor Asik would get you even in the top 15 of the draft, and only harden would get you maybe top 7 protected.

    Embed, Randle, Wiggins, Parker, Exum, Smart > harden
