i'd specifically ask the veteran fans who follow the Rockets from a long time ( i'm following this team from 1995): has there ever been a more disappointing event in the Houston Rockets history?

it feels like the Mchale hiring, just out of nowhere. I don't hate it. I think he is good at implementing team basketball. But he is not a leader and will easily be phased out by our only cornerstone left. Foundation is shaky.

Some have used kubiak's success as to why a coach like Pringles could be successful here. But that kubiak aw chucks kids was just for show. Behind the scenes, he had no hesitation in cussing out foster.

You must be thinking of someone else or some other team. JVG was not fired from the Rockets.

    not even close...
    .
The drug busts of the 80's that cost us potential championship(s)...
"Dream team" falling short (Scottie Quitten/Barkley injury...)
    TMac/Yao injuries...
    and many more...

The MDA hire is just more infuriating because it is a conscience decision by mgmt....

    screw Les...

    Jesus, this.

Wtf do we really know? What if this somehow became the magical "fit" and every star aligned in the implemented system? Stranger things have happened.

Honestly, just Howard being gone is a game changer (in a potentially positive way). It sucks and I really wanted it to work out, but if his absence somehow gives Harden the kick in the keister to give a ****, then lets go! (He sure as hell showed more fire/effort in damn near every game without Howard the last two years)

There are far too many factors (asst. coaches, free agents, etc) still to be determined before we automatically label the next season a failure or even worst, "the biggest disappointment in Rockets history".

Certainly one of them!! Although i feel sure That Les has a ulterior motive in picking a coach who not last very long, possibly a single season.Y:p

These are worse for me than hiring MDA:

    - Starting off a promising season by losing by 20 each of the 1st 3 games.

    - This last season as a whole (lone exception is Beasley).

    - Making Pippen a Rocket only to have him quit on us.

    - Losing to Utah in the playoffs...twice (especially after having a lead in the 4th quarter of a deciding game).

    - Losing to Dallas in the playoffs after going up 2-0 on their court.
