A very, very, very long time. UNLESS, he is constantly hurt. If he stays healthy, he will be the longest tenured QB in team history and the best.
The tread is sell high or trust his health. Selling high would mean trusting the front office to make insightful moves VS trusting a player that seems fragile at best sometimes. There is no denying he is a difference maker, but how often and long can he play?
Honestly thought u were gonna start one last season with how much dislike u had for Watson when he first started.
It seems weird we heard contract negotiations are ongoing with JC and now its looking like they'll wait to see if he stays healthy this season. What is the time table for his return? Perhaps FO knows something is not right and want to see how this season plays out before investing heavily in him.
Is good news to read that he wants to stay with the Texans. But he is not worth 50 million dollars. If he ask for 50 million, or more, then bye...
Clowney is going to be so grossly overpaid, it’s not even funny. No defensive player is worth that kind of money. With that kind of money, Texans are better off signing 3 quality starters like merciless instead of spending it all on one player. That’s why I thought they should’ve traded him during the offseason for two first round picks.
@Bobbythegreat would u trade JD for a first and 3rd? Also how much would you pay him today knowing all these deals happened? Thanks.
Clowney has ridiculous talent and has the ability to be a game changer. That being said, with all the health issues that's he's had thus far in his career, let him walk if he wants Khalil Mack money. If you could get a first and another high pick for him, I'd pull the trigger, but I doubt anyone would give you a first for him, let alone a first and another pick.
