Morton went 4 shutout innings in a AAA rehab start -- 2 singles, 1 walk, 2 Ks. He only threw 47 pitches -- I guess he goes one more rehab outing with a 75 pitch count, and then rejoins the club. They may give him 2 more outings and bring him up after the all star break.
I think he will get another rehab start next week and another after the all-star break. Should be back for the series in Seattle or Baltimore.
http://www.chron.com/sports/astros/article/Astros-reliever-Will-Harris-to-stay-on-the-11299931.php On Wednesday, Harris said he does not feel any discomfort in his shoulder and that the inflammation was gone, but the medical staff has prolonged his rest period to ensure he is fully healed. The goal, Harris said, is to "strengthen everything up so that I'm able to throw and be completely pain-free through the rest of the season. "Our main focus is making sure I'm 100 percent healthy, so I don't have any relapse. Getting pretty close. I'm thinking I may play catch in the next couple of days on the road trip." Harris and Astros manager A.J. Hinch said that if his shoulder responds well to the initial steps of his throwing program, he can return to the mound shortly after. "Hopefully it will be quick from him playing catch to bullpen (session) to game," Hinch said. "We're being conservative with his throwing program. We think it'll be quick once he's good to pitch."
Let him get some extra time. I want him 100% in October. I hope they all get plenty of rest at some point.
This is an important thread with an important thread title. Thank y'all for all of the updates, much obliged.
100? Honestly I don't remember a whole lot about Collin's stuff, but he doesn't throw gas like that does he? I thought he was 1 or 2 mph over Keuchal. Or am I not remembering correctly.
I think he was looking for the sarcasm font. He doesn't throw particularly hard, his main weapon is his wicked curveball.
