Not a craftily worded question to fool you.

I would say 10am. Moving it back would be 2pm

    Forward - earlier.

    Back - later

I'm afraid to answer. When I first read, I thought 2pm, but thinking about it I think it is more logically 10am. Of course confusion exists since technically forward in time would mean farther into the future.

FWIW, it is always important to confirm actual time and date.

Its perception vs reality. Its context is vague. Neither answer is wrong.

I think "move it forward" sounds unnatural. I would use "move it up" vs "move it back". But clearly "move it forward" must mean the opposite of "move it back", so 10am.

Earlier / later clears up the ambiguity. I picked 2PM.

I interpret the wording as "forward in time" so I voted for 2 pm, whereas "backward in time" would be earlier at 10 am. However, I can understand the other point of view also, so it is not entirely clear... unlike "lass-o" vs. "lass-sue." :p

Quick meeting tip for all you guys working at home doing virtual meetings...if your meeting software allows for custom backgrounds, take a snapshot of you looking at your camera attentively. Save the image and use it as your background for your meeting. Connect to your meeting with the new background in use...to your co-workers, you look like you are present and interested in the meeting.

Meanwhile...go back to drinking, sleeping, TLOU2, sexing. Win.

Yes, there's holes in my plan...but you can always say your internet froze and you couldn't get it back online. Win.

    No attempt to overthink it.

My brain went STRAIGHT to 2pm.

If I want to have it at 10am, personally, I say move it "UP".

I showed up at 10 am. No one was there...so I left. Didn't bother thinking it was 2 pm because, in my mind, it wasn't. Turns out...I went to the wrong room because, originally, it was in room 3a and the scheduler said "move it forward 2 floors as 3a is booked already". I ended up on the 5th floor when everyone else went to 1.

Next time, give me a concrete time and location *******. ;)

Yep, mine too. If I have to think about it that much, you need to communicate better. Send a calendar invite and we're all good.! :)

I associate "moving back" with "later," and since that's natural in common parlance, I was able to guess with reasonable confidence that "moving forward" meant the opposite. All this is solved by using actual times.

This reminds me of "next Saturday." Someone says on Sunday that "we're meeting next Saturday." What does that mean? Six days from now or thirteen days? Depends on who you ask. I always say "this upcoming Saturday" or "two Saturdays from now" just to remove the ambiguity.

Any day that falls within the current week is 'this x'. 'Next x' day is the next week. But when does your week start? To me it's always been Mon-Sun but my damn Outlook wants to start on Sundays.
