In your adult life how many times have you switched jobs? For what ever reason better job, more money, building resume, unhappy, laid off, fired, ect......

After reading another thread I feel like the minority having only one job in my adult life and being there 20+ years.

3 jobs in 25 years. 1st job was only 2nd half of a semester and then moved onto a bigger district with better pay. 4 years later, moved to where I am now. Going on 21st year in this district.

If we're counting companies, 4 companies over 20 years since graduating college. If we're also counting every time I moved positions inside a company, it's more like 10.

3 different companies in about 9 years.

First was 5 years. Left for better pay (and also didn't like auditing).

Second was 2.5 years, left because they sucked (Russian Owned) and for more money.

At my third now for about 1.5 years or so.

1 job for 8.5 years starting at 18 1/2 years old. I left when things weren't looking good for the company to take next job. Lasted for 32+ years and retired a few months ago.

I stayed at the same place for the first 15 years of my career and assumed I'd retire there. Eventually, I realized that I had topped out at the place and the only way I was ever going to advance was to leave. I spent 3 years with a second company, then got a great offer to jump to another firm. After being here for 2 years, I'm now sifting through some really good offers to jump ship again. Corporate America has changed significantly in the past 20 years.

In the medical field you have to move around frequently but don't burn bridges. Raises are too low if you stay with 1 company.

Agreed, unfortunately, you don't get decent raises staying with a single company any more.

Since I was 18, 13 jobs counting my own businesses as one.

I woke up to one of the most unenthusiastic handjobs ever this morning because she left the fkin light on in her jeep again and doesn't know how to use the jumper cables.

It's not that good. She knew I was pretending to sleep while she tried to wake me up after I stayed up late watching the rockets. She grabbed onto ole Oscar Meyer to get my attention and I went outside and jumped her stupid car and went back to sleep with blue balls.

3 jobs over 15 years. 4 if you count working for the Census off and on for several months in between job 2 and my current job.
