It doesn't have to be one or the other. I can have a good life, make good money, live in a carpetbagger city and make carpetbagger money all the while repping Houston, visiting Houston frequently, spending my money in Houston, and doing my best to keep the city on its upward trajectory in terms of general perception. If the NBA happens to be rigged and engineered to make us look like clowns year in and year out, I don't have to follow it. But if we do well, I can always watch. I was there in 1994 and 1995, it's not like those things go away. The only difference now is that I don't die inside when we lose, the way I did in 2005 against the Mavs or 2007 against the Jazz. Now I'm old: I know it's just a show.
