You know, the way he was hopping around before the games and jumping up and down during the games, it was getting on my nerves. Help your team! Glad he is going to play.
I will root for UCF to get into the playoff. This American Championship has screwed the conference before as we well know.
I know people are screaming for the DC's head but are the defensive issues the scheme or the injuries/lack of talent.
Even if they do, UCF has a tough row to hoe since their QB is our for the year with that gruesome injury he suffered yesterday. If we had of taken care of business yesterday, there is a good chance we could have outscored UCF in the championship game.
Yes, come on down David Gibbs! Houston has fired defensive coordinator Mark D'Onofrio. The Cougars allowed 34.2 points per game and struggled down the stretch, allowing 36 points or more in five of their final six games and allowing 45, 52, 59 and 63 points in their losses. Houston could be looking for two new coordinators as offensive coordinator Kendal Briles is in the mix for the Texas State head-coaching vacancy.
Who saw this coming? Everyone! Unfortunately, Texas State is trying to steal our offensive coordinator to become their head coach.
It is mostly coaching related. There were injuries but with their offense, they could have gone undefeated with just passable defensive play.
UH defense had talent. Oliver, #1safety in his class who transfered from Ole Miss, transfers from ND, Miami, and TCU. Yes some got hurt, but they were still getting gashed when all healthy. Poor recruiting too. No depth on D.
If the Coogs are planning to fire Applewhite, why fire the DC at this point? Seems like maybe Applewhite is staying.
Applewhite's job is safe, but at this point I'm not really sure why he exists given that his hires have been meh (Johnson) and a total disaster (D'Onofrio). The one talented guy on his staff (Briles) was foisted on him.
I think Applewhite gets another season. He does well with the Regents and he can make a strong argument that he will be in a position to hire a better DC than a year ago, when he was brand new.
