I was just in Istanbul. Its a great city. It seemed pretty secular to me other than the prayer on the loud speakers.

Been to Istanbul a few years back. Such an amazing city. Its pathetic Erdogan is turning back the clock on secularism. As if installing some strict form of any religion has ever helped any country....especially Islam.

Someone that is informed with the details can explain the attack? It doesn't look like the curds MO. Is it an isolated cell ISIS thing? It looks targeting non Muslims, more thank anti-turkey curd attack

If radicals keep trying to force feed Islam on the world, there is only one conclusion, a Hitler will rise and begin to preach death to all Muslims, and that will start to become more accepted - until a massive war breaks out.

****ing mythology - who is more right on made up hocus pocus and killing over it.....idiotic humans.

If you believe past rumors Erdogan had Turkish intelligence assist ISIS: This proves if you sleep with a snake it will eventually bite you even if you are also a snake.

Yes, but this attack wasn't even ISIS, it was Erdogan's gang directly. Just like with Karlow.

An unconscionable act by a madman on the innocent. Erdogan is contributing to the current wave of instability in the country. The over 70,000 arrests after the coup attempt last summer included many involved in internal security. Over 30,000 prisoners in prisons across the country were released to make room for those arrested. No wonder that the situation in Turkey is increasingly dire.

Yes, because they forget or don't care that there is no way they can win.

It's kinda of absurd to see how many still sobbing after that failed military coup.

Erdogan is the (only ) serious political leader in fighting ISIS and a terror attack against Turkey is expected

Are you saying my post is inaccurate? I was deliberately conservative with the numbers.

Of course you didn't,everyone is addressing his own narrative. But going back to ISIS's Bughdadi last 5 speeches ,while he distributed insult right and left ,he commanded his followers to attack Turkey,GCC and France by the name.

The attacker is apparently an Uighur (Chinese Turkic Muslim minority mainly from Xinjiang). Prior to this attack, the Turkish government have been quite supportive of the various Uighur separatist / Islamic / borderline terrorist organizations.
