Both starters leave. Both teams **** the bed. Both the Astros and Yankees don't deserve to win. You don't take out your starters after throwing one hit 6 inning baseball. Embarrassing!!
How was that not panic? Please explain before you start calling people names? One hit through 6 IP and he hangs a ball to a guy who hit 50 bombs. It doesn't mean you pull him to send panic through the players.
I think he's referring to the knee jerk/panic mode many Astros fans are exhibiting tonight when the series is merely tied...
For the life of me, why is this guy so respected? Same guy claimed not REALLY caring about the outcomes of games. Can't remember the exact words, but That was the sentiment. So yeah... why would somebody like that panic? Throw in "p***y" to sound tough and strong. Yeah, oh yeah. Bullsh1t makes no sense.
Girardi didn't panic, he has a deep, quality bullpen. Hinch has a shallow, mediocre bullpen. The extra bullet in his pen (Peacock) didn't make it into the game.
Dude it's baseball **** happens... did he pull McCullers early maybe but say he waits for more damage then you guys would be torching him for that to
It was panic to pull him after the HR with a 3 run cushion. Easy keyboard warrior. Easy to refer to everyone as a p***y when you won't ever see anyone...
Merely tied with all momentum in favor of the Yankees and they're still at home for game 5 where they haven't lost. If you aren't worried as an Astros fan, you should be. Everything has shifted in their favor. They just did the same thing against Cleveland....
Momentum is not a thing. If it were then every team that goes up 2-0 should by definition would win every series. Astros supposedly had the "momentum." Astros haven't lost at home in the playoffs either.
Hinch has been more successful leaving his starters in the game than he has been pulling them in the playoffs, so you do wonder what he's thinking out there. It's like he refuses to listen to what his eyes are seeing. Since I'm not one to pull starting pitchers until they've given up three runs or more, it's hard for me to watch a manager pull a starter for what might happen rather than what has happened. But especially so when your gamble is to put in a so-so bull pen, or a starter turned reliever, who again, just with the eye test, it hasn't panned out for him in the playoffs. But as long as we win this series I don't care how he does it.
There is a stark difference between the stuff/past performance of Keuchel/Verlander vs. everybody else. Had LMJ been stretched out, and closed the season stronger... I expect he would have given him a longer leash. As it was, almost everybody was anticipating max 3-4 innings from him yesterday, let alone 7. At the time (end of season), I questioned what they were really planning on doing with LMJ as they seemed to be anything but trying to get him ready for the playoffs... part of that was the success of Peacock/Morton (and to some extent, McHugh), and the other part was not wanting to over-tax his arm and induce another injury. But this is exactly the situation that can arise when you have a pitcher who hasn't had the proper work-load to set him up for a lengthy playoff outing. The good news is, he'll be nice and stretched out for his World Series start... And if this team is relying on near complete games from all their starters, with every member of the bullpen being not trustworthy... they're not going to win many more games with these sorts of conditions.
