OK, last year's didn't turn out so hot due to injuries, but JB Bickerstaff, Chandler Parsons and the Grizzlies are now 7-4. I've seen enough, folks.

Currently the no 1 seed in the west bi@t*% wow.

Who would have thought back in October with a of injured conley and old man gasol that they will be first and beating a Spurs team tonite.

Everybody does. Nothing new to us.

In the 8 plus years of grizzlies playoff basketball, not once did the league think enough of the grizzlies to give them a Christmas day game.

Grizzlies are definitely impressing but the teams they have beat haven’t been very impressive tbh. 3 good wins against the Bucks, Nuggets and 76ers but every other team is outside the playoff picture and all but the Kings are below .500. The biggest different I see is they aren’t dropping as many games against low level teams like last year, and they’re healthy. Once they start playing more top tier teams we’ll see if they’re a top 5-6 seed in the west. For now I’m still hesitant to believe so.

It's impressive because they have been doing what the Rockets have been doing lately.

That without a Super Saiyan Harden. Without a true Superstar and true Offense sort of.

I wouldn't say its not extremely impressive just because that's how Memphis has played for a while. Even when they were a good team in the early 2010s, they never had a star, just some really good players, and relied on their defense. They are just an anomaly that stays the same while the rest of the NBA changes, and it happens to work out. It's nice to see them have some success though. Never really had a problem with the Grizzlies outside of them being in our division.

I would call Pau Gasol a borderline rising superstar when young. At least he had that kind of impact at times.

Marc and Conley are stars but not the most shining. Also Zach Randolph was a borderline star as well.

Yes but arguably none were top level players during any of their times with the Grizzlies, with exception to Marc for a few years. Also I would say Conley is playing at a star caliber level right now. Theres an overabundance of PGs right now, but he's putting up 20 a game pretty easily. And Gasol's putting up 17 and 10. Wouldn't say they aren't playing at a borderline all-star level right now. But neither of them, nor Pau or Randolph, are stars in the likes of Harden, Giannis, Kawhi, etc.

Pau Gasol was a legit franchise player thats why Lakers went from 0.500 tean to two time champions the moment he got traded for Kwame Brown of all people.

Yeah true but mostly it is scoring. None of those Memphis players were elite volume scorers.

If the system does not demand your stars to score 25+ ppg every night and you can still win and be 1st place for a period. I think that woud be welcomed.

It helps your stars with longevity. They dun have to do it all scoringwise.

Yeah hopefully neither of them gets injured again. Really like Conley and Gasol and it always sucks when one of them goes down.

Beating the bucks at home, who have lost exactly 1 game at home, to the grizz, and who just blew out the trailblazers is impressive in and of itself. The twolves were on a 3 game winning streak and the mavs were on a 4 game winning streak when they beat them.

Also, beating the spurs at home who everybody believes will make the playoffs, beating the jazz twice already.

It's not like the grizzlies have played all the scrub teams. lol

I don't mind you believing that that the grizzlies don't have a star. I do mind you thinking that Harden or Kyrie is one if Marc and Mike aren't one. Let's be honest here, Harden is a choker and the only reason that the rocket did anything last year in the playoffs is because of chris paul. Without him, harden did what he always does in the playoffs.

The fact is that the grizzlies are always playing with less talent than most teams they face (due to having key injuries in the playoffs, or the league bogusly suspended Zach for game 7, or our new owner trading rudy gay mid-season because he can't stand success and then the spurs don't have to guard tony allen or Tayshaun prince and sweep us).

The difference in the grizzlies non-stars and the melos of the world, the harden and kyrie and lillards of the world. The grizzlies don't choke. They ball and yeah they are usually up against it, but more often than not they make it hell on the people they play.

The league would **** two bricks if the grizzlies went to the finals. So the grizzlies will have to fight ref bias, and whatever else silver puts in front of them to ever win a title.
