    Oil Can Giles.

That was both painful and fun to watch.

Yep. One of the prospects in the Cole trade, Jason Martin, is having a solid start to his MLB career.

One of the effects of having a great farm system is that some of the prospects you trade away will pan out .

I think cole did well enough for us last year that I don't mind it haha .

Another one of my favorite prospects from seasons past , Jordan lyles , is also off to a good start . But , he's definitely been a journeyman so far

It’s a great thing if they pan out. Win-win deals make that team want to trade with us down the line again.

I know some people don’t like watching guys like Hader go on to be successful players but it’s a credit to the Astros scouting and development teams.

In baseball you can't keep em all.

You've just got to maintain the right balance . It's an artform haha

One player I was pissed they traded was jarred cosart . He quickly flamed out , but I thought he had some of the better stuff I'd seen .

But, I think we won that trade . I don't remember the chain of transactions for those players but I know marisnick and martes were involved .

Our prospects are turning out at a great rate though , unfortunately a lot of them have broken out for other teams . Fortunately most of that is because our roster is filled with really good players .

At the very least we've seen proof that lunhow can stock a farm system . MLB does a good job giving some advantage to shitty teams .

Just needsed to make a little more contact. It would not surprise me to see him end up in the baserunner, OF defense guy for some team in the playoffs.

Traded another one of those to Oakland
    Have one in Marisnick
    Still have Straw
Fisher sort of fits that (minus defense)

    It's an embarrassment of riches!

Crawfish boxes freaked out about Phillips moving on. I never saw the problem there. So far no damage. Even if he breaks out there isn’t any need for him nor place for him

Entering today, Martin's OPS ranks 293rd of the 311 qualifying players.

The Astros were willing to move on from Phillips because he was losing his speed.

Ended up being a classic Giles save.

Giles enters in the bottom of the 9th up 6-4.
    1) First batter (MarGo), homers. 6-5
    2) Second batter walks
    3) Third batter grounds into a force out at 2nd. Still a runner on first.
    4) Fourth batter strikes out
    5) Fifth batter doubles, the runner on first is thrown out at home plate to end the game and award Giles the save.

    Classic Giles.
