I am surprised this doesn't have its own thread.

Also I heard on the radio that Easterby was making close to a million dollars. I mean why is a team chaplain making that kind of money, Is he Joel Osteen? You have Luhnow and Morey running two of our franchises.

Then you have franchise being run by a team chaplain, a racist GM, and owned by a member of the silver spoon club?

Easterby is an executive now. Probably wasnt making that much at New England as character coach/chaplain.

O'Brien is a weird, weird dude.

He was an executive in New England as well.

Still, the premise here is dumb. He makes good money because he’s an executive in a billion dollar company.

I've only seen him listed as character coach for the pats.

For the Texans he's Executive Vice President of Team Development.

I’ve given you articles that show he was in on every personnel meeting and was considered a Belichick top guy.

I read he sometimes sat in personnel meetings. Still doesn't mean he was an executive

The quote was that he sat in on “every” personnel meeting and was responsible for deciding who would fit their culture that he was Belichick top personnel guy along with Caserio.

Why are you so invested in downplaying him?

He was let go by the pats.

I seriously doubt he was a top personnel guy and sat in on every meeting. Likely he was more like an advisor who sat in some meetings.

He doesn't have the experience to make high level decisions

Yeah he had an expiring contract and chose to leave.

    From that same article:

It's still somewhat vague what he did exactly other than mentor and chaplain and sitting in on meetings. It's not like he really had major say in anything, just some input.

Hed doesn'thave much scouting, coaching or analytical experience.

And they also didn't extend him.

It’s vague what everyone does, but NE reporters called him an executive and said he was involved in personnel. They’ve also said NE wanted him to stay and he left. You want to mock the Texans so you refuse to accept that

Where did it say the pats wanted to keep him?

I'm just looking at his experience. He doesn't have much real football experience

Saying he is leaving to pursue other opportunities is saying it's his choice to leave. If it were the Pats letting him go it would say that. The entire article is about it being a huge loss to the Patriots that he was deciding to leave. Further, if you listen to these guys on the radio they've said it.

You are looking at a title and just ignoring the fact that multiple articles have been written about him for several years now calling him an executive that was heavily involved in personnel. You're ignoring that there was a bidding war for him including from the coaches who got head gigs that worked for the Pats.

You're simply going "lol Chaplain/Character coach" and ignoring everything else that's out there about him because of an agenda.
