He can also sign with a team for the NBA playoffs again once the CBA season ends like he did last year.

Man... He was really a nice fit here, especially when he was drilling corner threes.

I will always be bummed at how everything turned out. He would have been very interesting as a C in D'Antoni's system. Those mid-range jump hooks he hits with regularity would have given GSW some problems.

Unlikely. As far as I know, Shanghai Sharks is a top team in China, so they will likely have a deep playoff run.

EXACTLY - but his agent and Morey trying to circumvent the CBA put them in a bind - he got paid by the league anyway.....but he was an end of rotation player at best.....but would have been a nice contrast to Capela if needed.

Why does DMo refuse to play for his National Team? He doesn't want to get overshadowed by Sabonis and Valanciunas?

    Hell,
    • Giannis is playing for Greece.
    • Jokic
      Bogdanovic/Bjelica/Boban for Serbia.
    • Rudy for France.
    • Gallinari for Italy.
    • Vucevic for Montenegro.
    • Rubio and the Hernangomez brothers are playing.
    • Ilyasova for Turkey. (Kantar has an excuse not to play for Turkey. lulz)
    • Shroeder for Germany
    • Bruno for Brazil
    • Ingles for Australia

    • Simmons isn't. He plans to be working out with Philly teammates. Is DMo going to be working out with the Sharks?
    • Adams isn't for NZ. He's always refused "mysteriously".
    • Slovenia didn't make it, so Luka has an excuse, same with Nurkic's team missing out, and Hezonja.

Heh. DMo and Adomaitis (head coach) have a feud going on. Despite that, DMo still said he would very like to play for the national team, but the coach didn't even include him to the preliminary roster, despite a very tough group in the World Cup. That pretty much confirms that their relationship is ruined beyond repair. The coach received a lot of criticism for this, but has full support of the Lithuanian basketball federation (I guess the president of the federation, Arvydas Sabonis, doesn't mind his son Domantas Sabonis being the main power forward).

This has been going on forever, right? So, DMo is the only star player in the world who can't play for his National Team, because he's feuding with the coach, team and organization.

    lulz

Even Bruno Coboclo got kicked off Brazil's NT *during* a major FIBA event in 2017 and he made up with them.

Yeah, as I said, DMo kind of extended an olive branch, but just got ignored completely. And that's that. To be honest, both the coach and DMo are idiots for escalating this situation, but at least DMo was willing to put it behind him. The coach is just a moron who prioritized his own personal vendetta over the interest of the national team and all its fans. Luckily we have some depth at the PF position so it's probably not the end of the world, especially because DMo often struggled on the national team, couldn't quite find his role.

P.S. DMo had a good relationship with the former coach Kazlauskas (who was coaching until the end of 2016), but his relationship with Adomaitis went to **** in 2017-2018.

The feud is with Sabonis (old one), first he complained about Dmo playing in summer league in 2014, later 2015 summer Dmo refused to play because of injury . This year Dmo club refused to let him go to play in FIBA window , and Sabonis being in China on official visit, refused to meet with Motiejunas. And the main reason is Sabonis son, he needs to be promoted.
For some reason Sabonis was ok with his son decision to play in summer league, as with Dmo he was totally pissed. Sabonis is in charge of Lithuania basketball federation. How ever this mighty Lithuanian team , at best will only make to second round.

If Melo can't get a opportunity, then DMo isn't even worth mentioning. It's funny the love Dmo gets here in contrast to the hate Melo receives. Especially given the extra drama Dmo left here with. Why the bias?

Dmo is better than Melo at this stage of their careers and is more than comfortable being a support player.

    Melo sucks.

Dmo knows he suck, so that is why team will give him another chance.

Melo still think it's 2010 and coach should base offense around him and get touches

The narrative that Melo came here making demands or a locker room cancer has been disproven by Melo AND the organization. DMO ON THE OTHER HAND was a different story. Yet you guys are so soft on Dmo, a guy who averaged 6pts

Dmo was cottled by his fans, and at times by the organization, which ultimately gave him false entitlement. But he's always sucked. Melo's blackballed

Blackballed??? You making Melo sound like Lin and being blackballed by the NBA.

FACT IS: Lin and Melo still think it's the year 2012 and can't accept the fact they suck.

    Go to CBA.

But Melo didn't suck for us before we cut him after 10 games. He averaged 13pts off the bench, which is solid for a guy adjusting to a new system. He wasn't a locker room distraction, he played his role, and he got along w/ teammates. Lin really did suck last year

You folks downplaying DMo's game flat out don't know hoops. Seriously. Dude was a player on the big time come.
It took the back injury to take him down.
    Pure and simple.
He was never the same afterwards.
