What a joke... Dude has one ring and they are treating him like Greg Popovich.

The clippers didn't even really improve with him at the helm, definitely not $50 million worth of improvement

I think the owner can afford it.

Sounds like the new owner might not be so good at separating business with friendship. Look for Matt Barnes' three year/$33 million deal soon.

Good. Another talented team in the West with a mediocre coach.

Doc Rovers attracts talent. Daryl Morey does not.

Doc would have landed us Bosh.

There seems to be more teams I want to lose in the nba then normal.

    Lakers
    Mavs
    Clippers
    Cavs
    Heat

And the jazz always the jazz

If the players buy in and he attracts FA's, then he's probably worth it.

Most important point is that Ballmer is making clear that he's not going to nickle and dime in terms of staff and support personnel for the Clippers. Deep pockets go a looooong way in sports.

This is great for clippers fans as signing doc for 5 years 50 million (whether he is worth it or not) enhances the organization stability and credibility while costing the team NOTHING except the owners money. Coach's salary have zero impact on the teams cap, so unless you are balmers accountant or think this will negatively affect the clippers team payroll, this is a win win move for clipper nation.

It's gonna be fun having Ballmer be an NBA owner.

Until Doc loses the players and the owner decides to keep him because of the massive contract.

Someone reminded me again why teams need public assistance paying for stadiums?
