Again, Dick Burr has nothing on Kelly Loeffler. She showed how it's done

    https://www.thedailybeast.com/sen-k...-in-stock-after-coronavirus-briefing?ref=home

Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) reported the first sale of stock jointly owned by her and her husband on Jan. 24, the very day that her committee, the Senate Health Committee, hosted a private, all-senators briefing from administration officials, including the CDC director and Anthony Fauci, the head of the National Institutes of Health of the United States, on the coronavirus.

“Appreciate today’s briefing from the President’s top health officials on the novel coronavirus outbreak,” she tweeted about the briefing at the time.

That first transaction was a sale of stock in the company Resideo Technologies worth between $50,001 and $100,000. The company’s stock price has fallen by more than half since then, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average overall has shed approximately 10,000 points, dropping about a third of its value.

It was the first of 29 stock transactions that Loeffler and her husband made through mid-February, all but two of which were sales. One of Loeffler’s two purchases was stock worth between $100,000 and $250,000 in Citrix, a technology company that offers teleworking software and which has seen a small bump in its stock price since Loeffler bought in as a result of coronavirus-induced market turmoil

So Loeffler gets the Dump &Pump win here.

She (1) attended the briefing on how bad COVID19 was,

    (2)Traded off the information,

    (3) put out dangerous, misleading tweets downplaying COVID19,

    (4) while going long on work at home related stocks.

That probably really won her some Trump points.
It's a triple fraud score in scumbag Scrabble. She should be indicted and impeached today for this ****. You could take this post and put it before a grand jury and they'd be done in 5 minutes

    There. Is. No. Bottom.

    Lol

    You forgot to mention -

Sen. Kelly Loeffler is married to Jeffrey Sprecher, the chairman of the New York Stock Exchange, and the chairman and CEO of Intercontinental Exchange, which is NYSE's parent company.

    ---

Amidst the viral issues, pressure needs to be applied to prosecute clearly fradulent senators like Loeffler. Not just resigning, actual prosecution for clear illegal activities while leveraging a position of power.

That being said, what Burr did wasn't illegal considering the amount of public information that was available leading up to mid Feb. Not his fault people are just late to the party in general.

Also note Loeffler is married to the President of NYSE.

Too bad the courts are closed and the DOJ is neutered by Bill Barr's stubby fingers. This would be a career making case for any AUSA.

Are we acting like on Feb 13 Wall Street was completely ignorant of the CV and the possibility of a pandemic?

IIRC WHO at that time was saying that CV had potential to be a pandemic and all that means.

BTW the market selloff started about a week after Feb. 13, so Wall Street was not that far behind the Senator.

I sold off yesterday in my brokerage account. I will be out at least 30+ days, to lock in the losses for tax purposes. I would not be surprised if the market bottom is not 50% of peak, so we may have a ways to go before the pain stops.

the only problem I have with these republicans is not that they do things like this...its that they BLATANTLY lie to their constituents and perpetuate this falsehood

Most of these Senators are old AF. They should be quick on the trigger to sell their stock.

Now if they are making public comments reassuring their constituents that all is well while getting out of the market as fast as they can, ...

If people were just selling in q1 for tax purposes or profit taking - fine. They can plausibly claim "coincidence", at least that's what I would do if I were them.

But Loeffler who was 1 selling, 2 dangerously tweeting COVID19 is Democratic hoax propaganda and 3 going long Citrix at the same time - that's so damning.

Neither to the obscene amounts that burr and loeffler did. Nor the stocks that burr and especially loeffler traded. And Feinstein is a billionaire whose husband is an investment firm CEO that has probably traded zillions of stocks his whole life.

Diane Feinstein sold the most stock by far after the briefings. No surprise, liberals are always more guilty of that which they accuse their political opponents of... I do not approve of anyone front-running the market with confidential information. Especially public servants.
