With little pressure many QB's look really good. Even Brock was ok when he had time to throw. The big boys dominate the blitz and incoming pressure.
per this account, Watson is splitting 1st team reps with Savage might just be a function of players resting/hurt so the 1st/2nd teams blend together
I'd like to see the numbers on that if you could show me the link, please. But the three things I liked most about Watson was that (1) he took his time to put his players in the right position. Pre-snap is so important and he looks like he understands that (2) he's mobile and when he feels pressure he's going to leave the pocket (3) when he leaves the pocket he's still looking downfield which is really important because he knows when to throw it away or run
Not saying that is bad info or anything and could very well be true. I wonder why the Houston media hasn't jumped on that after practice.
How did the rookie QBs deal with pressure in their preseason debuts? BY SAM MONSON • CLEVELAND BROWNS • CHICAGO BEARS •HOUSTON TEXANS • DESHONE KIZER • MITCHELL TRUBISKY •DESHAUN WATSON • AUG 11, 2017 CHICAGO, IL - AUGUST 10: Mitchell Trubisky #10 of the Chicago Bears passes under pressure from Shakir Soto #67 of the Denver Broncos during a preseason game at Soldier Field on August 10, 2017 in Chicago, Illinois. The Broncos defeated the Bears 24-17. (Photo by Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images) DeShone Kizer was the star of the rookie quarterbacks under pressure, passing for 126 yards and a touchdown when facing heat in the pocket, giving him a 129.2 passer rating. He was the only rookie quarterback to have a passer rating over 100.0 when pressured, and he was pressured 13 times on 23 dropbacks. Mitch Trubisky had a big night for the Bears, but his passer rating under pressure was just 47.2. He attempted six passes when hurried, completing only two of them for 25 yards, but two of them were dropped by his receivers. Where Trubisky stood out when pressured was making plays with his legs, notching three scrambles for 38 yards. Deshaun Watson was under pressure more than any other rookie passer over the first preseason games, feeling the heat on 16 of his dropbacks (53.3 percent). He attempted twelve passes, completing seven of them for 98 yards and a passer rating of 84.7. Like Trubisky, Watson also added value with his legs, scrambling three times for 24 yards and a touchdown. https://www.profootballfocus.com/ne...ocial&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=nfl
Is he being sarcastic? Why couldn't he discuss that? Is it a secret that the kid we traded a good bit for, the presumptive future, may be getting reps with the starters?
Oh wow. Strange. It will be telling game 3 of preseason if Watson gets time with ones. I would like to see him with the weapons we have on offense.
But they quickly reports who are working with the 1's and 2's during OTAS, minni camp and TC. So how is this a secret again
His first series was with first team OL except Mancz at C. He's been getting some first team rotations. Neither QB has been lighting up the defense.
sorry i was being sarcastic towards the "news" that he was getting 1st team reps. i mean of course he's getting 1st teams he's #12 overall and the future. savage is as lame duck as you can be and even he knows it.
