Personally, I am having Warren Moon flashbacks. DW is not in that territory yet, but he brings back some memories. If he can refine his game, I think he can get to that level. For those of you who didn't get to see Moon, watch some videos. He is the best QB Houston has ever seen. The Texans have never had a true elite QB. The Oilers did.

Other than being black, why are you getting those flashbacks?

Well, that's just about the only thing the 2 guys have in common, so I'm not sure how he'd answer that.

Forget Black. Moon was athletic. Watson is athletic. Moon was mobile. Watson is mobile. Moon had the "it" factor. Watson has the "it" factor. Both have a quiet demeanor. The ball exploded out of Moon's hands. Same with Watson. This is not to say that DW is where Moon was. Not even close, but I think he can get there. Moon had won four Canadian championships before he even came to Houston. DW is a rookie. Moon threw one of the tightest spirals I have ever seen. He threw with pinpoint accuracy. DW has a lot of work and refinement ahead of him, but I think he will be the second Houston franchise QB before his career is over. It is now just beginning.

I think they have mobility in common I mean the Texans have never really had a dual threat QB but Watson definitely doesn't have the cannon that Moon had but he does have star potential.

Moon and Watson totally different type of qbs. McNabb would have been a better comparison.

I wasn't talking NFL; I was talking QB's in Houston.

32 hours later, my stance has changed: The guy can produce. Looking into my crystal ball, I think Savage is going to play just well enough to not warrant him getting benched sadly. I understand the upside argument with Watson, but I believe we will get Ws with Savage. And Nuk giving Savage the endorsement has to factor into this decision, we NEED to resign him and him being happy helps that cause immensely.

My bad. You're right Moon is the best ever in Houston. Not even a close second.

Moon wasn't really a mobile QB, he was a traditional pocket QB. Being black isn't the same thing as being mobile. Sure Moon managed about 8 yards a game, but that's not really being a mobile QB. Moon was a hell of a lot closer to QB's like Matt Schaub (pre foot injury) and Tom Brady when it comes to mobility than he is to guys like Steve Young who are your traditional mobile QB's.

Honestly the only things Watson and Moon have in common are being on Houston professional football teams, playing the QB position, being male, and being black.

BTW...those questioning arm strength. DW threw a ball 65 yards in the air...on a rope...that was dropped.

Yeah he threw it behind a player, and it should have been picked off.

There's plenty of good things to focus on, you don't have to make one of the negatives into a positive.

Impressive throw. When he let it go Spencer Tillman said "wow".
