How much will it take to sign an extension? 4 years at $125M?

They are going to give him a huge signing bonus paired with a structure over 6 years.

They should have over 100 million in cap space next year.

It will be a 4 year deal reloaded in to 6 years with a signing bonus. I’m not sure how big those get, but if they can get his cap his around 20 over 6 years with a 30 million dollar bonus, that would be desirable.

$31M? Nah, the price is only going up. Next guy up doesn't take less than the guy that just signed.

    Dak, Mahomes, Watson are next.
Brady, Brees & Rivers too but they're obviously older.

Dak gonna get more than Wentz/Goff. (Gonna aim to get more anyways)
Mahomes gonna blow everyone out of the water, might get $200M+

I think they'd be stupid to give Dak that kind of money. Maybe its just me, but I'm not that impressed with him.

As for Watson, well let's just hope he can avoid any serious injuries this year. His durability is a huge risk, and that should be weighed in any monetary value assessments for a long term deal. I mean in 4 years he tore both ACLs. That's a big red flag, regardless if he can stay healthy this season. When comparing him to equally efficient quarterbacks, durability and injury history should swing the scales.

I agree Mahomes might break 200+ but he’d have to ball out next 2 years

Texans bet the future on this guy when they drafted him and in trying to protect him. No way they can let him leave due to contract disputes.

Watson definitely has "the it factor" to be MVP of the league. Dude just oozes clutchness. The antithesis of Texans football.

In only 23 games we've managed to suck more life out of this kid than the grim ****ing reaper.

Mahomes is relieved that he got drafted by the Chiefs and Andy Reid instead of the Texans. Watson should be pissed that he didn’t get picked up by the Bears. The Texans deserve someone like Trubisky, honestly. At least we wouldn’t be wasting his talent like we are with deshaun.

Jesus spent 40 days and 40 nights in the Desert but had he been a Texan he would have totally broken down. Props to Watson. We Believe in you, holy phenom.

You are ****ING idiot. You still think Watt was a bad pick? Texans wasting his talent? What was the Texans record with Watson? They made the playoffs....and lost in the Wildcard, same as the Bears.

Watson talent being squandered by an incompetent coach. Sad reality.

My cousin thinks I'm wasting my Corvette's potential just because I never take it out of first gear, and use it exclusively to deliver firewood. What that idiot doesn't realize is I'm still faster, and can haul more wood than his moped.
