Deep Fakes are going to be a huge problem in the near future

No matter how attuned and resilient we become to Deep Fakes in D&D, when we venture into the GARM, we will always fall for fake trade rumors.

why's that?

 

So... everybody knows that there were Moon disaster speeches at the ready, right?

 

Why bother with deepfakes?

The derpfakes have taken over the White House, the Senate and a large swathe of America.

We don't need your seamless video layer editing when we got a Facebook feed.

 

Politicians are thrilled. They can always claim those blackmail videos that Epstein collected while they were banging minors are deep fakes.

 

The Texans' secondary falls for them every time, thankfully Jameis Winston overthrew 4 or 5 of them.

Jeesus, it's like they threw the ai model into an uncanny valley sim, and it just Neo'd it after a million or so tries.

Hollywood and ip hoarding media corps might begin to feel a slow and accelerating death like what the internet did with trad media and news...

 

This is horrifying, on one hand, but on the other hand, we may never need to attend Zoom meetings again! In fact, entire Zoom meetings could happen with only avatars taking turns talking. LOL.

 

One day, you'll be able to tell your TV the basic plot and starring actors of a movie you want to see, but doesn't exist yet, and your TV generates the entire thing for you on the fly.

 

Avatars that represent YOU. Once the meeting is over, you receive a summary. Your value lies in being used to create the avatar, one that can be updated with more of YOU (until you are replaced).

Hard to believe, but they are also dumber. Watching a group of them and you wonder if they take turns with the brain cell, or if it has somehow escaped. The collective noun for a group of Pandas is an "embarrassment". I don't know what this has to do with A.I. but there it is.
