No matter how attuned and resilient we become to Deep Fakes in D&D, when we venture into the GARM, we will always fall for fake trade rumors.

    why's that?

    Why bother with deepfakes?

The derpfakes have taken over the White House, the Senate and a large swathe of America.

We don't need your seamless video layer editing when we got a Facebook feed.

Politicians are thrilled. They can always claim those blackmail videos that Epstein collected while they were banging minors are deep fakes.

Now fake Facebook accounts are using fake faces

Artificially-generated faces of people who don't exist are being used to front fake Facebook (FB) accounts in an attempt to trick users and game the company's systems, the social media network said Friday. Experts who reviewed the accounts say it is the first time they have seen fake images like this being used at scale as part of a single social media campaign.

The Texans' secondary falls for them every time, thankfully Jameis Winston overthrew 4 or 5 of them.

^ Face melting...what happened to the Good 'ol Days of innocent interwebs??

Jeesus, it's like they threw the ai model into an uncanny valley sim, and it just Neo'd it after a million or so tries.

Hollywood and ip hoarding media corps might begin to feel a slow and accelerating death like what the internet did with trad media and news...

This is horrifying, on one hand, but on the other hand, we may never need to attend Zoom meetings again! In fact, entire Zoom meetings could happen with only avatars taking turns talking. LOL.

One day, you'll be able to tell your TV the basic plot and starring actors of a movie you want to see, but doesn't exist yet, and your TV generates the entire thing for you on the fly.

Avatars that represent YOU. Once the meeting is over, you receive a summary. Your value lies in being used to create the avatar, one that can be updated with more of YOU (until you are replaced).

Personally, I'm looking forward to the holodeck

Those days of "free" training data is probably over.

    VoxCeleb

"Microsoft Researchers trained VASA-1 on the VoxCeleb2 dataset created in 2018 by three researchers from the University of Oxford. That dataset contains "over 1 million utterances for 6,112 celebrities," according to the VoxCeleb2 website, extracted from videos uploaded to YouTube. VASA-1 can reportedly generate videos of 512x512 pixel resolution at up to 40 frames per second with minimal latency, which means it could potentially be used for realtime applications like video conferencing."

Zoomers aren't getting laid compared to older gens.

If this trend keeps up and said TV makes a damn fine sando (not mayo but an aoili?!?),we'll be so d00med, those Matrix baby farms will be needed to save our shut-in asses.

Thinking about that other thread, pandas are way cuter than we are...

Hard to believe, but they are also dumber. Watching a group of them and you wonder if they take turns with the brain cell, or if it has somehow escaped. The collective noun for a group of Pandas is an "embarrassment". I don't know what this has to do with A.I. but there it is.
