An even better man than he is a player. I knew none of this. http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/st...deandre-hopkins-mom?ref=https://www.espn.com/
And people complain about the littlest things. We're all guilty of it. So glad he found success and his family is reaping the rewards.
I saw this "Coverstory" late last night on SVP's show as I was trying to catch the Astros highlights. Such a gripping and heartbreaking story, it was definitely a tear jerker at one point, which puts into perspective why/how this great guy is the way he is. Very humbled, extremely mature, puts in hard work and 100% effort every time. The wide receiver anyone could ever ask for, but also the outstanding human being that pro athletes should be, as icons to the world. He really is that great.
I honestly hope BoB keeps improving his coaching, and we actually hire a competent GM. Hopkins, Watson, and Watt are all charismatic players from different backgrounds and carry themselves the right away. Please let's not waste their talent.
Amazing story and really good article. Houston has been pretty blessed in that most of our sports icons have been great people too. Those 2 things don't always go hand-in-hand - just turn on the news. Earl, Hakeem, Clyde, Rudy, Guy (Lewis), Nolan, Biggio, Bagwell, and now Watt, AJ, Hopkins....all just 100% class on and off the field.
Mad respect for Hop the player and the man. To have overcome what he had to overcome and still remain humble and grounded is truly inspirational. He is a great man who honors his mother everyday. It made me miss my own mother even more.
