This was the type of game I envisioned us being able to play with the talent we have. Great team effort. This is the best I can remember us playing defensively this year. Looking forward to Thursday night's game at home versus UCONN.
Noticed in the updated BPI ratings we have moved up to #25. Substantially higher than Memphis ,Wichita State, or Cincinnati all which are ranked in the 40's. Pretty good week for UH men's basketball.
Man this team could have used Brooks (3pt shooting) but it is what it is. Team really starting to gel as everyone learns their role.
7 seed in the tournament. But our Achilles heel is shooting. As much athletic talent as anyone. It’s just a matter of how far can it take us.
We have good shooters in Mills, Sasser, Hinton, and others. We just have to work harder to break down the zone defenses other teams are throwing at us. We need to get our shooters more open looks. We have time to figure it out with 13 more conference games left. We will continue to see a steady diet of these zones until we perform better against them.
Thank god for Caleb Mills. All night this felt like one of those games we were going to screw around and find a way to lose. UCONN played us tough but the refs had a little too much whistle tonight IMO. I would love to know what Jarreau said to UCONN's coach to get t'd up. Nice win for the coogs. Glad we got this one behind us with another win in the win column.
it should be pretty consistent like last night as the year finishes out now that they're back in the ranking spotlight. the wagon will continue to fill as the tourney approaches and the coogs move up boy is mills a bucket. anxious to see this guy year after year
The AP poll released right as I posted that. I like to read Rob Dauster. He had UH at 19 in his AP vote early this morning. Coaches had UH at 24. It's all good to me after years of being irrelevant. The end of the season with 2 verse Memphis could be very interesting.
Such a fun team to watch. Sampson's stamp on the program is just so clear to see and so awesome. It helps that my son is deeply in love with this team and this program, but even if he wasn't I'd be a fan.
I hear ya, my son just transferred back home to UH after a year and a half out of state. He's a basketball fan and I was telling him he needs to go check out the TFC and watch this young team. I told him they play the style he loves, relentless. He went to his first game vs UCONN and saw that relentless quality, he is all in now.
