FIFY, he was not good enough to warrant this attention, and he has chosen to sue instead of trying to come to some kind of agreement. Everyone hates the owners for wanting to stop the protest. What about the people who picket outside the white house and other places. No protests last forever, and Kaepernick has not been clear about what he actually wants to happen in order to stop so everyone is just like okay then, don't come here.
That's really what it comes down to, if he was a better player, he'd be on a team. He was always a fringe quality starter and when you are in that spot you can't be a negative influence on the team off the field or you are gone. He actually almost got another job as a backup a few times but the first time his girlfriend shot her mouth off on Twitter and that caused the team to back away and the other time the team asked him if he would stop the kneeling BS and he told them no. He's simply not good enough to be that much of a hassle.
Kap has been relatively silent for quite some time. Trump's hijacking of the issue is what raised it to utterly ridiculous levels. He made Kap an even bigger "martyr" and symbol than he was. The lawsuit is happening because Kap realized his NFL career is over and he has nothing to lose. I don't blame him for this at all.
He made himself unemployable even if there was no comments by Trump. If anything, the Trump comments made it more likely for him to get a job just to spite Trump.....but he's just not good enough to justify the circus.
