I'm still in mild shock. What a great coaching job he did for us. Considering Curry and Klay only need a sliver of room to get off good 3pt looks (for them), that was some elite scheming to flatten the GSW perimeter motion, ... which is arguably the toughest offense to defend in the history of the game. Thank you, Coach, for your dedication to (and love for) the game, and ability to get a new team to rally around a Call to Defense. ------------------------------------- Also, Bzdelik's dedication to family is inspirational, too. I posted this in the news thread. In 2004, Bzdelik and his family suffered through his teenage daughter, Courtney's brain surgery...successful removal of a benign tumor. But it scared him, and after the Nuggets, he chose to remain in Colorado for two college gigs for awhile after (driving distance from Denver) rather than seek NBA gigs and move his family. After Air Force and Colorado, he then took the Wake Forest job where Courtney got into undergrad. I can imagine at this point in his career, it wouldn't take much to bring back those memories of family first.-------------------------------------- Here's a couple of my favorite articles during his tenure here: When he arrived: Rockets assistant coach Jeff Bzdelik builds reputation one stop at a time Heading into 2018 Playoffs: Meet the Defensive Genius Behind the Rockets’ Championship Push
It’s a damn shame . This will hurt . I predict our wins drop down to a total of 73 wins. 73-9 #runitback
BzDelik is a scrub! Tilman is right to let him go to Phoenix for extra money! MCW and Enn15 will replace him!
Jeff Bzdelik was a true professional and I am glad he retired a Rocket. All the best in retirement Jeff!
We appreciate the job you did for us, Jeff. That's why we're going to miss you. Enjoy your well earned retirement.
Thank you Jeff. I hope the squad can honor your time with us by being disciplined and smart defensively
