That's definitely a possibility. I just hope 2 egos don't disrupt all the positives they can bring by sharing the ball. If neither Alpha male is dead set on breaking individual records and being the Rockets highest scorer over all else then we will be a better team. Maybe the times of them both taking more shots than anyone in the league will end, and we can play smarter ball and faster ball. I am excited about it. Any reduction in slow ball dribble dribble ISO will be more fun to watch. I hate hero ball.

Westbrook and PJ Tucker on the floor at the same time = steals, rebounds, and all of the dirty work and little things that hustling for a loose ball gets you. There won't be a more intense team than Houston in the NBA next year.

We got 4 years younger as far as I'm concerned. Let's see what happens this season. Long term we're in better shape.

People think we are in worse shape long term because Westbrook is predicted to decline fast. He is actually only 3.5 (not 4) years younger than Chris Paul. The half year is not just nitpicking. The NBA game is extremely demanding physically. You can see when a guy is losing a step, there is significant drop off within one year.

The prediction is that 32-year-old Westbrook won't be any better than 35-year-old Chris Paul. And the former has an extra year on his contract. So the window is quite small. This is clearly an all-in move. In fact, the Chris Paul trade was also an all-in move. We thought we had about two years left in CP's tank. Sure enough, when we didn't win it all, we were screwed. Same thing here with Westbrook, if the Harden-Westbrook doesn't work out within the next two seasons, we are screwed even worse than with CP.

We sacrificed our future when we maxed out Chris Paul with a blown out hammy. All we can do know is double down.

Not until Tilman has collected enough dimes and nickels to pay his $25k fine.

Press conferences don't come cheap esp for a major dude like WB with all the media etc. Right now it's on hold b/c our owner can't afford until his loan application is approved.

I don't think so …. That guy would have signed Shumpert to something between 10-13m last week and spent the MLE on something. As it is , those assets are going going …. probably gone , right along with that $10m+ they could have added to the trade that brought Westbrook here.

Its quite obvious that he has to work within the luxury tax and that really limits his ability to accumulate / horde assets to turn into better assets.

Agree but I think we sacrifice our future when we trade for CP3. The max contract was part of the deal.
We go for the champ and we were close.
Now this is a good move to keep competitive and maybe go for a ring.

Yeah , I'm pretty thrilled with this trade - despite the draft picks.

I can envision WestBrook snagging a rebound and pushing it up the court with Capela rim running and Tucker & House making their way to the corners …. and Harden lollygagging his way down the court as the trailer.
The only thing I don't want to see in this scenario is a pullup 3 or a mid range shot by Westbrook -
Everything else is a plus - Rus gets a layup , Capela gets a dunk , Tucker / House gets an open 3 or Harden gets the ball at the top of the key for a pick and roll or ISO set against a defense that's already out of sorts.

This team will be impossible to defend with those on the court at the same time and damn difficult to defend with one or the other on the court.

Defensively …. they could struggle some but the it shouldn't matter most nights , they will outscore the majority of opponents. Its up to the coaching staff to get the most out of them defensively.

Those of you who don't like this trade …. look on the bright side.

CP3 was fallin apart at the seams , He couldn't beat my old ass off the dribble last year …. His contract is gone and while over the course of their careers CP3 has been the better player , he isn't the better player today. We got a league MVP in return and the window that appeared slammed shut has been thrown wide open.

Sure , Westbrook has his issues offensively , he'll chuck enough bricks to build a church and his defense is questionable.

But you gotta realize that Mike , Dan and Tony are known for getting the most out of his players …. particularly guards.
They can tweak the system to suit the combination of WB and Harden , Westbrook is the transition sparkplug & Harden takes over in the half court. No need for Westbrook to be taking mid range shots or contested 3's in this system when he has shooters around him ….

And if worst comes to worst .… we just blow the whole thing into oblivion.

It would be much easier to summarize at the end of June next year. Cheers.

    Time will tell.

If both WB and Harden have a bad shooting night, it will be on them role players to bail us out.

There is no 'impossible to defend' in that scenario, both WB and Harden are not pure shooters, and will be streaky. (Harden is better at it than Brodie)

Expect bad shooting nights from WB a lot.

He is an extreme player, if he gets it going, he gets it going, but he fails rather often too. ----Inconsistency.

I can see them slashing a lot more.

Totally agree - this is a hugh reach that reeks of desperation. It's as if NOBODY in the Rockets' oganization bothered to watch the NBA Finals. All they've done is to double down on an approach that has failed to work.

Fitting albeit WB being better than the Old Shaq at Suns.

Great trade. Nobody thought it was possible to trade Chris Paul and get better. We did just that.

Sounds more like a random ass prediction with hardly any evidence to back this up. Westbrook has no where near the injury history of Paul. CP3's game was supposed to age well too and we saw how that wasn't true last season.

ages much better than westbrooks thats all athleticism. his window is going to be pretty ugly as he gets older but hey as long as guys get out of the way for his rebounds, hell be fine
