Astros are bigger chokers than the Oilers ever were. They had more chances to choke. Texans havent had chances to choke in the playoffs (never had leads in the 2nd round). 50 years of choking... your Houston Astros.

Dude, I get it. I really do. I’ve been hated on before for saying I’d be a pessimist until team proved me wrong. But, what’s point of this right now? Do you want fans to boycott team? To demand they fire Hinch? Trade players that under perform? Or are you just here to revel in team’s failure and be cheerleader for what many fans fear is true, but whom are trying to root for the team to finally overcome? I get the sentiment but to seemingly gloat about it is a douche move. Are you actually an Astros fan?

Oh, I was fairly certain that was the case. People like this I’ll never understand. I have family like this who just want to be haters. It’s beyond annoying.

    Check out @dranoel48’s Tweet:

That being said, the Rockets still won it all the year of this headline.

Never, NEVER, discount the notion of franchise mystique... the Yankees have it in great, pinstriped gobs.

A winning tradition can wake up bats. A winning tradition can help close out the 9th. A winning tradition can push a good team into the realm of greatness.

The Astros mystique? The rainbow unis.

Been an Astros fan since well before arriving in TX for good in '88, and this is the first year I thought they had built a team that could actually WIN... I even thought they had gotten hot at the right time in September, where that could carry them. But these bats have gone every bit as cold as the contenders of the late 90s - mid 00s teams, and not even Altuve can escape it.

OTOH, the Yankees have seen enough pitches now to have figured out the order, and franchise mystique will take care of the rest. The team with the most talent does not always win out; just ask the '95 Magic.

I really hope I am wrong, but I've heard this song before- many times.

I say just give it up. This team choked just like 2015. The bats are worse than the Bagwell, Biggio era playoffs. In fact, the bats were so bad back then , even Randy Johnson didn't even want to stay here. I wonder what Verlander is thinking, "the bats here stink, I'll play time here, then go back to Detroit to finish my career".

Yankee trolls are in full effect. Lol. Will be quiet once the Astros win though and go to the WS. DK and JV next. Good luck.

I truly hope you're right, but it appears we're setup for failure.

If - big if - we beat NY, the rotation screwed for next round -- just like '05.

I'd rather lose the WS than the LCS though.

What a terrible loss. Truly HOU-esque. Mark ass sports city.

Screw the mystique. These Yankees aren't Ruth and Gehrig with Clemens pitching. They are a tough and good team but they are beatable.

Are you watching the game right now? I won't argue your point about the Yankees being beatable... but do you see any fight in this Astros team? Tanaka's a ham n' egger, always has traffic on the bases, somewhere in between Peacock and Morton in terms of stuff... and what's happening with less than 2 outs? Springer's bat doesn't leave his shoulder with a 3-2 count and Reddick swings at low and away. They're gettin' clowned...

Yes the Stros are playing bad. If they are intimidated because of the Yankees "mystique" then we lost already and might as well pack the series up.
