Glad I saw news about this on Twitter rather than while watching live. It sounded like it was pretty gruesome.
With all of the openings we already have, plus the ones that will come open when dominoes start to fall, it really does feel like this Egg Bowl is Dan Mullen's last game at Mississippi State. He's not been shy about putting his name out there for other jobs, but it seems like he's always been the backup option when the primary option ends up getting the job. ESPN just showed a graphic of his accomplishments at MSU, and they floor me every time I see them. I know that they didn't turn out to be quite as good as the ranking suggested at the time, but the idea that Mississippi State, long considered the toughest non-Vanderbilt job in the SEC, was number one in the country for five weeks is absolutely insane. They will have been to eight bowl games under Mullen after this season when the program had only been to 13 in its entire history before he got there. Sure, it's much easier to get to a bowl game now then it was in previous decades, but that's still pretty darn impressive.
Not saying it ended up making the difference in the game because Rosier had mostly been awful to that point, but pulling him in favor of a guy who had thrown only a handful of passes all year was such a bizarre move on what was clearly a drive where Miami had to get points. By the time they got the ball back and had a chance to put him back in, it was waaaaaay too late.
Bummed that I missed the end of it. That's what I get for leaving the couch for a while. Lesson learned.

Baker Mayfield was suspended for all of two plays. I don't think he should have been suspended, but if you're going to suspend him, at least make it count.
