They screwed themselves with a November loss by 31 at Iowa.

Guess I'm just more of a traditionalist. Winning a major conference while beating an undefeated team ranked #4 should carry more weight over a team that didn't qualify for their own conference championship.

EDIT...Wait. This is college football. Tradition means you chose arbitrary things to decide who's worthy of the playoff/championship...not the actual games played on the field. So, in that vein, I'm a non-traditionalist.

They also had two losses and are extremely inconsistent. If they had an argument so did USC. At least USC lost ugly to a ranked team.

Also if you want to use the whole SOS argument Wisconsin had no business being #4 with the trash they played. Their best win was what, 8-4 Michigan?

But but but, Bama's best win was against the team that lost to Troy!!! Yeah the same team that beat Auburn. You know that team that Beat Georgia and Alabama...

Honestly Ohio State not getting in at least establishes some sort of consistency in selection, remember back in 2014 when TCU went 11-1 with their only loss coming @ #5 Baylor by three points, while 11-1 Ohio State got blown out by a 6-6 VA Tech team? Ohio State went on to win the conference but TCU ended up tied with Baylor (who got blown out by OU) for the Big XII title. The committee decided to jump Ohio State 3 spots in the final week, showing that conference titles > not getting blown out.

Jump to 2016, 10-2 Penn State wins the Big 10 over 11-1 Ohio State and beats them head to head, but since Penn State got blown out by #5 Michigan by nearly 30, the committee ruled that not getting blown out trumps conference titles, directly contradicting their ruling back in 2014, and both in Ohio State's favor.

My fear for this year was after 10-2 Ohio State beat Wiscy (a team that played a cupcake schedule to get to their record) by 6 points, that the committee would contradict their rulings yet again and let Ohio State in the playoff despite getting humiliated by OU and losing by 36 (LOL) to Iowa (LOL).

There was going to be uproar no matter the ruling, but I honestly think the committee made the right choice here, all we ask for is consistency in what to achieve.

I don't get the Bama hate. Vegas will probably even favor them to win it all. Rankings are fine by me.

Alabama, Clemson and ND all have decent chances to win out and qualify for the CFP, but who will replace LSU? My guess is OU. I have a hunch Michigan will not win out.

The 4 ACC teams that broke into the back of the CFP rankings are on average 16.5 spots higher than where the computers have them.

Joel Klatt: “It’s so obvious Frank Beamer is running the committee. The ACC is absolute garbage.”

Alabama had only trailed 3 total plays this season.

This week's game @ LSU would be more dramatic if played at night.

Okay, much better. The Rouge at night is extra tough for opponents.

Saw 9am PST on TV. Perhaps it's when Saturday's coverage begins for said network.

As much as I'd like to see Bama lose, I'm pretty sure you're right.

Have fun, be safe. That's an interesting place to see a night game.

Saw on Gameday that Tua's led 61 drives this year: 41 TDs & 5 FGs. That's just ridiculous.
