The teams records should not define the status of one individual player. And during this particular year Matt Schaub was throwing pick 6's like no other. So how is the heck are you trying to use this as a freaking measuring stick on JJ Watt. And dude stop it, I guarantee you if we were to ask every football player, every NFL coach and every ex player, they will say JJ was a Superstar.
He is a smart guy and must know by now that his former back injury is no small deal and this will certainly weigh on his mind. We will certainly see glimpses, but the young tyro we came to know and love will be a thing of the past. I hope he can play out another two seasons healthy and retire as the defensive g.o.a.t.
Talked with someone who knows Watt's medical records well.. and this individual is hopeful that Watt comes back productive but stated that all those injuries are bound to take its toll. Just hopeful that everyone is healthy this entire year+ playoffs.
Unfortunately, that seems to be happening with JJ the past couple years. Lifting too many tractor tires and who knows what else probably took a toll on his body that can't be reversed. Let's hope he stays healthy, but he huffs and puffs and needs to come off the field for breathers more now too.
[Premium Post] While I have never had back surgery, per se, I have engaged in a significant amount of sexual activity, which places great strain on the back. Using the wisdom collected from this body of work, I can tell you with confidence that Watt will return to super-stardom. GOOD DAY
I'm hoping Romeo paces JJ this season and gives him rest during games to reduce the wear and tear. We have enough studs on the front 7 that rotating JJ should be easy enough. If Watt can be 80-90% of what he was, that's a damn fine player.
The leg issue last year may be a blessing in the grand scheme of it all. It was just less wear and tear on the back which is a more serious injury. He looks like a monster in that picture. I could see him returning to 85/90% of what he was this year.
