CA changes standard for lethal force

    California just passed a law changing the standard for permissible lethal force by police officers from what a reasonable officer would do to what a reasonable officer would think is necessary to do. This could potentially be a meaningful shift of policing risk from citizen to officer. I think it could be quite good, though I guess we'll have to see how it plays out in courts and in the crime and policing statistics. I figured some posters might have some feelings about it.
