How can people honestly argue the league doesn’t at the very least have influence in extending series or favoring teams that help the profit margin?

    This isn’t a coincidence!

Sure you can overcome bias officiating but it’s like being in a drag race and giving one car an 1/8 mile lead. You have to work twice as hard to win.

The first half officiating was game 3 awful. They spotted the Jazz 20 points.

Rubio and Crowder was torching us. Capela looked like he should've stayed in hospital. Refs had nothing to do with that they called it same both ways, maybe with slight edge to the home team but that's normal in playoffs

Utah's ability to basically hold one of Capela's hand all game was weird
Capela had like 3~4 one handed rebounds .. . never seen him do that so often
Even his Alley oops seemed one handed

"Coach they mugging me in the lane"
"Drive more . .. . .they will have to call it eventually"
"Coach it is 45 seconds left in the 4th quarter"
"DRIVE DAMMIT . . .STOP BEING SOFT . .. they out working you in the paint" -- Clutchfans

I've been noticing that pattern. It's how they do it and get away with it. Create a big lead for one team unfairly, 2nd half call game evenly to create perception of fairness but only in moments of non-threatening game flow. If you notice even in the "fair" 2nd half any type of play that could be a spark plug gets killed one way or another. You'll even see a rouge tech thrown in to really show how "fair" they are. They are slick but if you watch enough games you can see their tricks coming a mile away.

Totally false. If we can get the same defensive contact allowed at home, and no three second calls, the Jazz will not pass 60.

Seems like this has been happening more recently, and I do have some texts with a friend from both of the last two games where we remark on the tone of the officiating really changing in the third quarter. They weren't so subtle in the Warriors series last year.

bro it's not happening, they not gonna allow it, better to stay away. but you already know this, just try to envision silver signing off on a HOU-BOS or HOU-MIL finals. this rigger would be sitting in front of the owners and nba board of governors apologizing profusely about the tv ratings $$$$ collapse

Milwaukee fans are going nuts after their first series win in 20 years. I think the league would be well-served to re-energize some its fans who aren't always getting spoon-fed championships. And a Hou-Mil finals would be 100x better than GSW-CLE of the past few years, no doubt.

Maybe it takes a short-term ratings dip but it re-engages some of its fanbases instead of always being Golden State-centric.

golden state was pretty obscure before their championship. i think the league could do the same if they throw everything they've got to promote milwaukee. but logically it's easier to promote houston than many nba cities, yet sternsilver refuses to acknowledge the city for some reason.

Not if you watched the first half - it was horribly biased, Utah with flop after flop on incidental contact and had about twice as many FTs. Houston was NOT getting similar calls on the other end. While 2nd half was much more balanced, the 1st half set a tone that was very home-favored.
