We lack a solid bench compared to last season. A 3rd unit even... Cp3 James ego green Arizo luc ego Tucker luc Capela nene tucker Vs Cp3 James austin rivers Ego james green Tucker faried Capela faried nene
It’s got to be a mental thing at this point. They freeze up with a lead or something. No basketball team should blow games like this. It’s beyond reason.
Once we gets the lead, we should let our inside player Faried or Capela to shoot rather than shooting 3 points.
I want to blame Scott Foster as much as everyone else, but the rockets really have a 3rd quarter and 4th quarter problem when it comes to holding onto leads. They are great at getting the leads but they just can't hold onto them this year. I think every team in the league knows it to. Tonights game they shot 2/12 from 3pt land in the 4th. 3pt shot is a great way to build leads early in the game, but as the game goes on that shot becomes less effective due to the intensity of the opposing defense increasing and players fatigue not allowing players shots have enough legs in their shot. Does anyone know our 4th quarter 3pt percentage stat for this season compared to last? I would like to know the percentage of open shot makes compared to other teams in the league.
No doubt about this brother... These games are gut punches. Over, and over, and over. Not sure why the NBA sends a hitman when the Rockets will already do the job themselves.
So can we not blame Scott Foster? Or can we be correct and blame both - the mercenary hatchet man AND the leaning fade-away three pointer chucking for quarters on end.
last year, we were able to keep those big leads and had a lot of blow out wins. not sure what's going on with this team..it's a totally different story this year...Ariza can't be such a huge difference maker right??....
We have bad shooting players, building that big of a lead is a shooting anomaly not a standard for us, and its not sutainable in course of 48min. Dont get fooled
The thing is...if they had such bad shooting players, then the leads would not come as often as they do. This happens nearly every game. The team just mentally doesn't know how to deal with a lead at this point. They're in their own heads.
Yeah, and it's been going on for years. And it's not even unique to the Rockets; the Astros do a similar but opposite thing where they (excluding the starting pitchers) don't even start to play until the 7th inning. These games have a huge mental component, and I've always thought it was the job of the coach to keep that in the right direction for the team. The Rockets certainly have not had anyone at the helm capable of that since Harden got here.
Each quarter average margin is getting worse. 3rd quarter is average, 4th quarter is compared to cavs, knicks, suns. Rockets are deficit at 4th quarter only. Players are tired, can’t play defense.
Defense, defense, defense, and.....more defense. Once you got a team down, you shut them down. Unfortunately, the Rockets play defense only intermittently.
