That's a great deal! We purchased an 880 a couple of years ago for $300 (on sale, coupon) at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and use it quite a bit. I was surprised at just how well the thing works.

 

Why are you looking for good Cyber Monday 2017 deals in the Black Friday 2016 thread? You should be in the Happy New Year 2014 thread for that. Amateurs.

 

Yeah, I know about the "how", but part of my problem is I have an electric/glass top/ceramic stove. Sometimes the heat starts permeating through the meat before the surface has really seared. I need to convert it to gas burners and then use the cast iron skillet on it. The other thing is, I need to get thicker cuts of steak. I've talked myself out of getting a Bernzomatic blowtorch with the Searzall attachment for now.

I haven't tried chicken yet, but a lot of people seem to think it's difficult. What I was going to try next was pork loin or something along those lines, then maybe I'll give a shot at chicken breast. I never even thought about trying something like a sirloin. Geez.

And now I went and got the Instant Pot, so I'll have another toy to mess around with in the coming weeks.
