    This sums it up...
"The Chiefs succeeded with the help of Houston coach Bill O'Brien, whose two fourth-down decisions are going to loom large in the psyche of this franchise until the Texans make it out of the divisional round. Losing to the Chiefs would have been disappointing, but blowing a 24-0 lead in a matter of minutes -- and attributing it to a pair of ill-advised and/or unorthodox fourth-down calls -- could end up as the dominant memory of the O'Brien era when it does end in Houston." I noticed this during the game...I mean it was easy to notice Johnson getting whupped around like that.

Yet we stuck with it the entire game pretty much.

It's the kind of indictment that should reveal to anyone that it's never going to work with BOB. He's always going to get outcoached. He's a good regular season coach, that much should be given to him, but when it comes time to beating the best it will not work if he's incapable of making adjustments.

Lol. Remember Reid also said after the game "the 4th down fake punt call was a good call!".

These other coaches know exactly how to gameplan/set up BillyO, lol. Let him keep thinking he's being smart and strategic.

As a further aside, I believe PFF had already put out a piece on how the Chiefs/Mahomes weren't really worse against man overall over the last 2 years, using rolling average QBR by coverage type and overall. Sometimes they've been better against zone, sometimes man. The small sample size from a three week period - during which the Texans got the win against the Chiefs this year - did not constitute any real statistical conclusion.

This is the type of stuff coaching staffs should understand.

Considering how the Chiefs not scoring in the first quarter was all on them - dropped passes, miffed punts - the Texans didn't confuse the Chiefs offense at all. Scheming in the NFL is about confusing the opposition.

That's right ladies and gentlemen. Bill O'Brien in decades of being a coach in the NFL and 6 years as Head Coach in the NFL does not have a 4th and inches play at the opponents 13 yard line to get a first down.

That's our coach for the next decade.

If only it had been fourth and 4 at the Chiefs' 13 yard line, he could have rolled out the fake punt!

I mean we have to at least concede that. Making the playoffs isn't easy in the NFL or winning divisions, he's done that at least pretty consistently.

I don't think he should be head coach though, winning the championship is what matters, this isn't college where just being relevant is a passing grade.
