Yes and the only teams that would take him as a rental is a contending team and why improve their chances with adding someone who’s been $$$ in the majority of his postseason starts.

I would go Kelvin Herrera Zach Britton and a choice of Kevin Pillar, Nicolas Castellanos or Jorge Solar

Pretty sure Derek Fisher and a prospect just 1 would net us Solar or Castellanos.
    Pillar straight up
Britton for Sipp and 2 mid level prospects not in the top 5
Herrera would be nice just because he could take over for Giles if he melts down. He would be the more expensive of the group

He has terrible night splits and is a horrible teammate.

I wouldn't mind Jon Jay just looking forward alittle for cheap.
I still think we need an OF. And tucker could be the 4TH OF and not rushed can also play DH or give breaks to Reddick and Springer. That's all I'm saying .

He's much better on grass than turf, though.

They aren't going to promote Tucker to be a 4th outfielder LOL

Jon Jay’s WAR is comparable to Fisher with twice the plate appearances.

But you really done wanna promote him and send him to the wolves and say deal with it. Regular season is much different then preseason I think you would wanna ease him in unlike what they did to bregman.
But if you could get a guy like Castellonos or Pillar you can always DH Tucker. Or them giving days off

Only way to give him consistent at bats and keep developing. Not going to call up a great prospect to be a part-time player.

Pretty pointless to even discuss it since Luhnow has repeatedly said that's not going to happen.

I am glad the Astros GM and management team, use different criteria. Marwin, Keuchel, Gattis and Marisnick were incredibly important to the Astros playoff run last year.

Quite probable that any other Astro would have been thrown out at home in game 5 of the World Series last year. Sure, a player shouldn’t be judged by one play, but too early to give up on Fisher. He has shown flashes.

Not a fan of the man who hit the most important home run in Astros history and shifted the World Series in Houston’s favor or a Cy Young winner who’s been consistently great..cool :(

Not a fan of paying someone who flat out cant handle the yr after.
Not a fan of giving marwin or Dallas big money to do trashy.
I dont care what he did last year what are you doing know?
Come on this is how you get into financial troubles paying someone for past performances.
Sorry I'm not gonna bit and I would hope to God neither would luhnow and company.

Marwin should not be making more then Jake and Dallas should not make over 10million period. He isn't a front line guy anymore. He is more of a 3 to 5 guy period that's a fact.
When you have Verlander Cole Morton and Mccullers he is 5 not 2.
So the arguement on past achievements is moot. And paying someone for there past is just plain silly.

    DONT GET ALBERT PUJOLED

So, you’re ready to make contract decisions that don’t need to be made for a number of months? Glad you’re not in Astros management.

Looks like the Royals might be ready to trade some pieces. Herrera might be a good add.

Albert Pujols got his first big contract with the Cardinals. They didn't regret it.

Some these fans are a complete joke,

If you don't think we should sign certain players to a huge extension, fine. But having an active dislike for somebody who has done a lot for your franchise just because he is a free agent is ridiculous. At least it makes it easy to identify when somebody needs to be ignored.
