He's 4-45 in the last 11 games. Let's count those as the 10 @sealclubber1016 referred to.

Prior to that he was 15-42 in the previous 11 games.

He has had a horrid 10 (11) game stretch (augmented by 2 game winning great defensive plays robbing him of 2 big hits). You can add in the 2-9 in the last 2 games of his "good stretch" to get to your 6-54, but he wasn't in a bad stretch at that point. He was finishing his good stretch.

No ****? Have you watched his AB's? He's lost at the plate right now (yes he did get robbed of the HR, first ball he nailed in a week, talk about bad luck).

He's flailing and swinging out of his shoes. Or he's just staring at stuff. That's not the good Springer.

I'm not arguing. Just showing where sealclubber got his "last 10 game" remark from.

it's time to bump the move springer down the lineup so he can catch some fire.

I have noticed a couple of things on George Springer. He has had so many types of batting stances over the years, and the way he holds the bat also. This year and last postseason, he has two types of batting stances, one is feet is even that is when he hits more often the other way. Second is the struggling one, his left foot is by the 3rd base side and pitchers are continuing to pitch away and he is swinging and missing a lot, too much of a pull hitter.

Springer is just streaky, we've seen it time and time again. 5 years in that's just who he is.

In order to get good Springer you have to occasionally deal with WTF are you doing Springer.

Yup, that's what I was about to say. Y'all have been watching Springer long enough to know how streaky he is, and that he's likely to get incredibly hot sometime in the next couple of weeks. That's just the player that he is.

They've started shifting on Springer taking away the ground ball up the middle base hit. Springer has to make some adjustments.

Very surprised it is not 1st, 1st, and 1st. Astros pen for the most part has been excellent in high and low leverage situations.

Entering today the 5 Astros starters are all in the top 20 in ERA in the American League. Cleveland has 3 pitchers in the top 20.

Four of our starters (sans Keuchel) are in the top 12 in the AL in strikeouts

Those same four starters are all top 11 in the AL in WHIP

With a win today, Verlander will have 10 and the Astros will have four starters with double digit wins going into the All-star break. Boston has three.

Overall, Astros lead MLB in ERA (by more than half a run, a bigger difference than 2nd and 14th place), SO, BAA and Quality Starts (by a lot) and lowest Total Bases allowed. Yet Astros are tied with the Yankees for most pitches thrown per batter.

Pitching is incredibly elite, we'll likely never see something this good again.

Unless Whitley performs as advertised next year when he takes over for Keuchel
