BA .287 as a team! (.293 without Carlos Beltran) :)

Has any team ever batted .300 ?

Anyone still have that TV graphic that shows our lineup batting average three (3) years ago vs. 2017?

Jose Altuve's batting averages the last 4 seasons and the years he won the batting title or is leading the league are bolded.

All of this and he is still 27 years.........

How about Yuli with the .991 OPS since June 1. Sure he's been getting some batted ball luck and never walks.. but Yuli has been slugging! 19 XBH including 6 HR in 27 games.

After the first month of the season I had him pegged as Martin Prado without plate discipline. Glad I was wrong. Keep doing you La Pina!

That Philly team had FOUR OF's hit over .400 for the season! The worst starter on the team .298.

The pitching must have been terrible back in those days.

George Springer leading all lead off hitters in MLB in HRs, Runs, OBP, SLG and OPS (2nd to Blackmon in average and RBIs):

    .301/.375/.596/.971

OBP over .400 since his mini-slump in the middle of May. OPS of 1.100+ since that same time frame.

In the old days, pitching certainly isn't what is today, but the fields were also terrible and larger.

They also had to use an abacus to compute stats which led to some rounding errors.

There are only 3 teams in baseball (Phillies-20 games back, Padres-20 gb, Giants 23 gb) further from 1st place in their division than the 2nd place team in the AL West.

Kalas mentioned that the Astros 31-9 road mark is best 40 game start to a season in the history of the game, tied with the 2001 Mariners and some team in 1906. This season is insane.

It was just a different game, no sense in comparing them.

This year would be his biggest if it stops Judge's tri-crown.

Do it, and let NY be mad.
Fewer teams equals more ABs against the same pitchers. Advantage hitter.

Plus pitchers pitched MUCH more frequently and for longer stretches. I'm sure the average velocity wasn't anywhere near what it is today.

I didn't check after last nights loss, but I'm pretty sure we have SIX players batting OVER .300 last year we had multiple players batting 1-something. Also last year Reddick bat .180 against lefties, this year he is over .320 Our offense is just insane.

Two games until the break and only lost back to back road games twice
