Not sure if it has been discussed before, the Astros success is a bit similar to the GSW. Both teams have their core home grown superstars, then added couple of guys via trade/free agency. The only difference is our guys are much more likeable... or maybe I’m just bias lol.

I see what you're saying, but the Astros didn't waste all their energy trying to break the single season wins record.

GS were very likable...until they got Durant.

I think we'd be like GSW if Trout came here on a cheaper contract just to win rings. I think that would complete that arc.

No amount of talent can guarantee anything in baseball.

The NBA on the other hand, the entire league felt hopeless due to snake.

That's true, I remember having a hard time convincing my friends to hate them before Durant got there. After KD it was much easier.

Can't really compare the two sports, as one person's individual talent doesn't have nearly as much of an impact on team success in the MLB. Look at Trout for example, the Angels are trash. The best player in his prime would never be under .500 in the NBA, even if you surround him with sub-par players.

Pre-Durant signing, there are some similarities for sure. Hopefully we win a couple more rings at least and it lasts even longer.

Not the best player in the league...

Trout is a generational talent like LeBron, in his prime LBJ had 60 win season with an awful team around him.
